Re: Black or gold wheels?
Not quite sure what i have here. The hubs are different to all the other 5 spoke Marchesinis i have seen.
I know there are not Magnesium.
Some of the later bikes 998R and S4R Monsters had lighter wheels/hubs still so i am hoping that is what these might be. Time to ask a few questions.

Re: Black or gold wheels?
No idea, Blade. I've looked for a part number but i guess that is inside the rim somewhere.
Is there another easy way of finding that out?

Re: Black or gold wheels?
Cheers Blade.
I think that refers to cast or forged magnesium wheels though and mine are not magnesium...at least as far as i know.
The magnesium wheels don't have the recess on the outside of the spokes like mine have.

Re: Black or gold wheels?
I would guess there cast as would be difficult to forge the recess in the spoke and serves no purpose other than aesthetics

Re: Black or gold wheels?
After asking questions and posting the same photos on a few Ducati forums, the consensus is that they are quite unusual and are most likely from a 996SPS which were a little lighter than the other 5 spokes.
So it seems like I have got a bit of a bargain.

Re: Black or gold wheels?
My wheels are back from the powdercoaters and I have left the original wheels with them to change the tyres over. Really pleased with them as I was initially concerned that the gold they use would be a little to dark but I am pleased to say this is not the case.
One thing I did not think of is that he cannot balance the front wheel until I have refitted the discs so will need to drop them back again tomorrow.

Re: Black or gold wheels?
Just picked them up. They look remarkably similar in colour to the photo I posted at the start of this thread.
