I should have gone to a gig last night with Beermonster, but I had work to do.

Surgery booked in and perfect timing too! Op is two days after I should be at work in Feb and I need minimum 3 weeks recovery, so I guess I won’t be going to work at all that swing

Highs and lows. He got his masters in engineering. He found a new job a few months ago but was made redundant last week. His health is ok, his eyesight has stabilised and he's learned to live with the limitations.
I'll pass on your regards when I next bump into him.

thinking this might be more than a hangover, just exploded, doesn't feel like hangover puke and I really wasn't drunk last night, I had a couple, wondering if it might have been the Mexican we had beforehand

Turns out Flynn has an ear infection. After nights of crying and days of him being really grumpy, and putting it down to teething, we finally took him to GP to get checked out. Trouble is I don't like going to GP in case you are just wasting their time.

Re: What ails you today?
Finally got the all clear for my shoulder. I've got near fill range of motion back and haven't though about taking a pain killer for weeks.
The physio recommended strength exercises to help with the general conditioning of the shoulders as it should help stop the problem recurring.

My calf, obviously did not stretch is properly and now I can hardly walk on it , Well I say that, it actually feels better working it than sitting around not using it, then it goes on strike completely.

Re: What ails you today?
Update: Musculo-skeletal team took a look at my knee and referred me for an MRI which I had last Monday, should get results this Wednesday.
The guy I saw was not happy with the length of time I've been on such strong pain meds for my age so really wanted this sorted. He's concerned it could be cartilage damage which would need surgery as it won't repair itself after 9 months. Minor ligament damage is the only injury which wouldn't require surgery

if you can get to see a doctor, one of our girls was sick but couldn't get an appointment for 10 days with a doctor, in the end she saw some kind of empowered nurse who was allowed to give out prescriptions up to a certain level.

It's a phone call lottery to get in to see my GP. If you call before 9am, you've got no chance. If you call mid afternoon, you can get in, if the receptionist picks up the phone.

Re: What ails you today?
don't quite know how it works in the usa but i think we are moving to something semi privatised involving having insurance policies to cover illness.

Re: What ails you today?
In terms of fast track, from seeing this particular specialist to getting the MRI was 5 days I think. If he calls tomorrow it'll be 9 days, 5 of which he was on holiday forKwacky wrote:Let's hope they fast track you now

Re: What ails you today?
I'm guessing that no-one on here has any first-hand experience of the US medical system??
It works VERY well indeed.....perfect? - no, nothing ever is, and you'll always hear the odd horror stories over the countless successes that happen on a daily basis....there's always a few people that slip through the cracks.
But I honestly have very little to complain about, and given a choice between the two I'd take the US system anyday.
Not that I do have a choice mind you, so it becomes a bit redundant.
