Re: Project ZX6R
Took the lever off and found the problem. The plunger on the master cylinder wasn't sitting correctly in the lever.
I gave the brakes a very quick bleed then put the after market lever on. Much better. Just for a sanity check I put the OEM lever on. It is slightly firmer. I think the plunger sits better in the OEM lever. I've put the aftermarket one back on and I'll see how I get on tomorrow.

Re: Project ZX6R
Got the replacement plastics for the kwak. As he's racing his bike he gave me most of the road parts so my bike will look like new when it's done.
As I use the bike all the time and seeing as I'm now skint for a couple of months I'm going to wait before I put the new plastics on. I can take my time to strip the bike and get it ready for winter. With the plastics off I can give it a good clean and cover it with ACF50.
In the meantime I can get these new plastics and give them a really good polish so they're ready to go on. Then I'll store them.

I'm going to pester Perkles when he gets back to see if I can use his garage for a few days in the autumn. I don't fancy stripping a bike and replacing the plastics on my front drive.

Re: Project ZX6R
Ordered a metal chain guard to replace the carbon one.
I want to break up the carbon at the back. I've got a guard and a hugger in carbon and there are some swingarm protectors in carbon to go on. I think it'll look too much having that much carbon at the back so I've found a nice Puig metal one on ebay.

Re: Project ZX6R
The new plastics are with Beermonster (cheers mate).
I'm going to hold off fitting them until after Almeria.
If anyone sees a used track nosecone for a 2009-2012 zx6r going cheap can you let me know? I might get one for the Euro trackday.

Re: Project ZX6R
Put an offer in for a used tank. These things are still going for silly money. New are £750. Even dented ones are fetching £300
Once I've got a tank I'll get it sprayed up. As soon as that is done I'll strip the bike down, clean her up then put on the new clothes.

Wow just had a mooch on eBay and they are crazy expensive. There's a couple of tatty ones at £260ish but most are silly money.

Re: Project ZX6R
Depends on the size of the dent. From what I've read they can become very weak so working them back into shape is hard to do.
Anyone, I've secured an undented one for £270 posted.

I think D6nutz paid around £100 and the guy did a fantastic job. Give Jon a shout about who he used.
