Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm in my way to reading hospital to finally see a specialist about my shoulder problems. I'm expecting a 2 hour wait for them to say I need an MRI scan.

The bright side is you can get an MRI referral.. I've been waiting months to get an appointment just for a referral where I'm going to have to wait another number of months..

It's taken about 6 months to get this far, you don't want to see the amount of pain killers I've taken in that time!Cav wrote:The bright side is you can get an MRI referral.. Re: What are you doing today ??
If you're anything like me you've been maxed out continuously. What's your injury? Must have missed it in the thread.
Out of curiosity, are you on Naproxen? I've been maxed on that for 4 months and am wondering if the doctor will continue to prescribe it or not as it's one of the more damaging painkillers (NSAIDS) - wondered what your experience is with the doctor

Trapped upstairs with a sausage butty and cup of tea to last me all day whilst the floor fitters screed the entire downstairs.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I've been suffering with really bad pain in my shoulder, I've currently on zapain (30mg codein and 500mg paracetemol) 6 a day for the last 4 or 5 months now. Also got amitriptyline for when the pain is really bad, but it's horrible for side effects so I stay off it as much as I can.Cav wrote:If you're anything like me you've been maxed out continuously. Seen the specialist today, apparently it's something to do with the scapula and surgeons won't touch it. No point in any scans and I'm back to physio with the hope it will just fix it's self. FFS!

Re: What are you doing today ??
They had to take me off Zapain because I got painkiller migraines... I'm now on Tramadol. Fortunately no side effects from that.
That sounds pretty terrible mate, what caused the injury?
My uncle broke his scapula in a bicycle accident (he crashed into the back of his son of all things) but I can't remember if they could operate or not. He is all fine now though so I at least hope you can find comfort in that?! :/

Re: What are you doing today ??
Can't remember what they put me on before, but it was ibuprofen based and gave me real bad stomach pains.
Not sure what started it TBH, it started about a year ago when I started commuting. I think it may have been there for quite some time, just not painful enough to be noticeable.
The specialist today did say that it could be a complex issue involving not only the shoulder but also possibly the chest muscles as well. She though that my shoulder was being pulled down and forward, which would stretch all the shoulder muscles.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The downside of shoulder injuries... it's possibly the most complex joint. The good thing with what is effectively a posture issue is that it shouldn't be too difficult to remedy, its just how fatiguing the pain is if you're anything like me - it's exhausting. Did she give any indication on possible treatment routes?D6Nutz wrote:Can't remember what they put me on before, but it was ibuprofen based and gave me real bad stomach pains.

No, been referred to their specialist physio. Guess when I've seen them a plan will become apparent.Cav wrote:The downside of shoulder injuries... it's possibly the most complex joint. Getting my oven cleaned this morning. It hasn't had a clean for 3 years (since new in other words) and it's filthy!
