Photo recovery

Looks like I've wiped my SD card in my phone.

Had to install some company software on my phone to get access to my works email.

Looks like the security encryption has wiped the SD card. The phones internal 16gb memory wasn't effected but the entire content of the SD card seems to have been wiped.

Annoyingly I was getting help from a colleague who promised me this wouldnt happen but did (swear)

Anyone got any suggestions of any free recovery software to get photo (jpg images) restored from an encrypted SD card ?

Depends what was installed. If it's done a decent job they'll be nothing left to recover.

There seem to be quite a few recovery programs which are all probably pretty much the same. Step one though: remove the memory card so you don't write any more data to it!

Have you got a card reader? They're only cheap if you haven't. Might also be worth popping into a computer repair shop or a photo printing shop? They must come across this often

Probably photos they might not want to see on there. (tmi)

I'd be quite pessimistic about this one. As it's security software they tend to overwrite the whole card when they encrypt.

How long did it take to install the work software? If it was quick then it might have been a lazy/quick format of the card.

As has been said - replace the card with one your not bothered about first.

Are there lots of piccies / precious ones?

If your really bothered I'd be happy to take a look and try and recover the stuff for you as i've done it before, but you'd have to assume you got nothing and then any recovery would be a bonus.

Good news indeed.

Sounds like a shit security swipe though. You can get good deleting software for free.
