Re: Putin and the West
There's a video doing the rounds on social media showing Russian soldiers beheading a Ukrainian prisoner.
They've turned in to Isis

Re: Putin and the West
That's a video I can definitely do without seeing.
It's not like Russia, particularly Soviet-Era Russia, doesn't have a rich history of barbarism towards people, including their own....perhaps mostly their own.
They have very different concepts to The West when it comes to the value of human life.

Re: Putin and the West
A couple of anti Putin armed militia forces (Freedom of Russia Legion and Russian Volunteer Corps) have joined up and are currently attacking villages inside Russia, around Belgorod Oblast, which is near to north Ukraine. Obviously Ukraine has been giving them somewhere to hide and train.
There's also reports of attacks in parts of occupied Ukraine.

Re: Putin and the West
Putin is going to be raging over today's Moscow drone attacks. He does like revenge attacks.
Keep an eye on Kosovo as well. There's a of anti NATO protests going on. NATO is talking about sending more troops. Kosovo is very pro Russia.

Re: Putin and the West
These independent Russians are putting up a decent fight. They've taken and held a couple of villages on the border.

.......... and drawing Russian troops from inside Ukraine. I'm sure it's all part of the plan.

Re: Putin and the West
There's a big row brewing apparently. The leader of Wagner has been publicly slagging off the war in Ukraine and those running it. Today he published a video which he says is proof of a Russian missile attack at a Wagner field base.
The latest rumours are that Russian troops are being called up to deal with Wagner.

Re: Putin and the West
Their mercenaries aren't they? I wonder if the USA is giving them big dollars to turn against Putin?

They are
They've been leading the fight for Russia in Ukraine.. USA wouldn't touch them, they've had clashes with them in Syria.

Re: Putin and the West
I've just seen footage of an army transport plane being shot down in Russia. It looks like it's happening.

I'm assuming the Wagner folk will be safe from Nuclear attacks... although maybe it isn't safe to assume that

Re: Putin and the West
Fwiw when I heard the news that Wagner were turning on Putin, my immediate thoughts were not in any way positive..
Uncle Vlad may be a psychotic despot, but I don't see any safe pair of hands ready to take his place.
If ever there was a more fundamental case of "better the devil you know", it doesn't come to my mind.
