Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Individual states have no authority over federal law , they can still prohibit weed etc but they cannot refuse to pardon those convicted under federal law , they could retry all those convicted under federal law under state law but the cost would outweigh any benefits and I am sure there would be many legal challenges .

Two senior officials have been shot dead in Iran. Both were involved in drone and missile development.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
There's been dozens of house searches and arrests across Germany. It's all to do with an alleged coup. Scary stuff.

Democracy seems to be getting pushed out even in western countries.
I wonder how much of it is funded by Russian money?

Italy have just slapped a 40% tax on profits made by their banks.
Imagine Italy leading the way on how to deal with corporate greed.

Watching the news about it right now.
5000 rockets!!!!....that's an incredible number.
....And of course, the inevitable Israeli counterattack is already well underway.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
I'm sure you mean Hamas military headquarters.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Israel actually hits military targets which look like residential buildings in one of the most densely populated places on earth.
And don't forget, every male over the age of 10 is a terrorist.

If I lived in a densely populated place like that, I'd be really careful about who I launched my rockets at.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
You can call them excuses, Israel would call them reasons.
You could take just about any country on the globe, launch a huge phalanx of rockets at it, and expect a significant military response from it.
Hamas knows this...they know that if they blow the crap out of Israel it's a win for them...and if Israel responds militarily it's yet another win for them - at least in the court of world opinion. And it's clearly quite effective.
The Palestinian Authority has also spoken out in support of Hamas' initial rocket attack, which to my mind at least, is pretty much announcing it's "open season" between the two states...and they get a declaration of war by way of reply.
Additionally, Palestinian militants have also gone into Israel and taken civilian hostages, their justification being that Israel is a military society, and therefore it's citizens are not considered to be civilians.
God is great.

1.4m displaced in Gaza
Over half a million in temporary refugee centres

It's utterly vile and our government is not only supporting it, it's actively egging it on. Rishi literally said we want you to win! Win, win what?!! I'm f@cking furious!

However the Government support what Israel are doing , they are certainly not doing it in my name.
Strange how all this has happened as Netanyahu court case might have been coming to a head.

Yeah, not in my name either.
It's not just the UK government, it's literally every western power in the northern hemisphere.
