Any delays in buying may work in your favour as people look to offload near the end of the riding season.

Nice but expensive imo. The one I was looking at had a full £2200 akrapovic system plus asv levers, zero gravity screen, loads of crash protection (Ironically) 3000 less miles and was 500 quid cheaper.

You know me Mick I love a good deal. Thanks for the heads up though mate.

I think I need to get some test rides. I wasn't really looking for a new bike tbh. It's just the rsv4 was a good price and the zx10r had fell out of my favour. But tbh that's just silly now it's fixed and was the PCV nothing kawasaki related at fault so I'm just going to enjoy the zx10r for the rest of this year at least.

That unless some amazing deal pops up before then ;)

The 1299 is a very different bike to the 1199, much easier to ride fast and easier to ride slow too bI was very impressed with the S1000rr I tried but it just lacked a bit of character for me. Not ridden an R1.

I want a Ducati sportsbike at some point Duke and although I didn't enjoy the 1199 maybe in fairness that test ride was compromised and as you say 1299 better road bike.

The s1000rr is a possible and a mega bike it's just a bit samey to my Blade and Zx10r and I fancy something different.

The idea of an R1 is something I'm quite keen on but I just think there still too much money and tradionally the jap superbikes don't hold there value like the European brands of BMW and Ducati. If they drop in value I would be interested but can't see that happening even though the market seems flooded with nearly new R1's

I like this Duke. Unfortunately no px option and and I need to sell the zx10r first as checked and my insurance won't cover three bikes even as a short term option. My current multi bike policy is limited to two bikes which is a shame as if a decent px was an option I could be very very tempted (happy)

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232035588442" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As you know I was very tempted before I had the new Multi. It needs to be ridden on track to make the most of it though at least with my limited capabilities. I will never ever forget the feel of nearly 170mph down that back straight at Snetterton though. A moment to savour for a long time.

Have you read the latest PB magazine Blade? Dave Hancocks little piece on the new Fireblade makes it sound awesome.

What's the difference between an 1299S and a stock 1299 Duke ?

Is it just the semi active Ohlins suspension and forged wheels on the S ???? Or are there other differences ?

I think the S also has full led headlights whereas the std bike doesn't. Don't think there are any other differences.

Cheers Duke. Can't say I'm bothered about led headlights tbh.

I don't blame you. But I wouldn't use that bike as benchmark on prices. There's probably a reason why it's so cheap.

It's not cheap cheap. There was a very nice low mile, well specified 13 plate for sale last winter for 10500 and was on ebay for months and months.

The market for 10k plus sportsbikes is small especially with the rsv4 so it seems to be a buyers market tbh.
