Cheers all. It was last cleaned by me 2.5 years ago.. he just doesn't care which is odd because he loves his car. Tyres wear out so fast on that thing because he never inflates them. He's saving for a full body refurb on it at some point apparently which would be nice.... get rid of all the rust.
I would not trust him with a pair of scissors haha

Mostly lichen. I believe it's the same stuff that grows on the north side of trees (in the northern hemisphere)

Today I woke up entirely too early for a night shift monkey and ended up arranging to borrow a S1000xr next week, I won't have too long with it but hopefully the weather will be cooperative next Tuesday

Fingers crossed for the weather, but even if it's not good the XR is an excellent bike in the rain. The adaptive suspension combined with the stability system is astounding, I rode mine in every condition and I don't ever remember so much as a wheel slip when commuting.Stonesie wrote:Today I woke up entirely too early for a night shift monkey and ended up arranging to borrow a S1000xr next week, I won't have too long with it but hopefully the weather will be cooperative next Tuesday
Dynamic pro in the dry however is a sports bike eater and will happily spit you off.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Is this the same as Slick mode on the Gen 2 S1000RR? If so, on the race track at least it's bloody excellent. I didn't see it flick on once despite being pinned on a few corner exits, the bike just squatted and pissed off down the tarmac

I was left underwhelmed if I'm totally honest, capable? Sure! The thing is a bloody weapon! Compared with my ZX6R it was numb and dull. If you're saying the Gen 3 was even more like that then I definitely won't want one

Re: What are you doing today ??
The 2020 model of the XR (not sure which gen) is euro 5 compliant, rides well but it's dull as dishwater.. I found the same with the euro 5 version of the RR when I test rode it, fast as **** but soulless.
The 2017 version of the XR was euro 4 and an absolute beast. This was the version with the drl vertically between the headlights.
I remember following Monty through Wales and him commenting that it sounded like a Lancaster bomber when I rolled off behind him.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm looking forward to giving it a go, but I do tend towards a torque laden engine rather than a high revving one... The only 4 cylinder bike I truly miss is the MT-10 even though it was a thirsty beast it had the low down grunt and the high end power when you wanted it.
If I get room for 2 bikes in my life I will probably get another MK1 MT-10 and mod it.
Today I'm just looking at the rain and wondering when my management will make a decision about transferring me to day shifts.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I took my boy mountain biking up in the woods yesterday, we did 2 runs with constant rumbling of thunder. On the last climb up it got very dark very quickly and with a huge crack of thunder the heavens opened. We took shelter under a large canopy near an opening and watched a thunder and lightning storm directly overhead for about 15 minutes.
When the rain began to break through the canopy heavily we escaped to the car, I put the boy in immediately and as I lifted the bike onto the roof there was a fork of lightning directly in front of me.. what an experience!
My boy LOVED the entire thing
