Starting my 2 day journey back home if the helicopter ever make it out. 3 hour delay so far.

20-mile road ride on my MTB, with maybe a couple miles of flat dirt trails thrown in.

I always head for the trees in the heat... unless we've recently had a monsoon because then it becomes a swampish steamy mess

Anywhere with trees, and/or very early morning...the earlier the better, is always a good idea. Yesterday's jaunt was a spur of the moment thing.
Come to think of it, I need to invest in new cleats and pedals too....mine are absolutely thrashed.

I've strayed away from the safety of the Yorkshire Wolds.
I'm down close to "dangerous territory", staying with family in Chipping Campden for a few days.

Re: What are you doing today ??
As I'm "in between jobs", I decided that it would be a reasonable time to escape from the day-to-day grind and have a bit of time to myself.
To make it a bit more interesting I decided to throw in quite a bit of wildlife photography and walking as well. I chose Lundy Island as the destination as it's verging on off-grid, with very little phone signal and the whole islands electricity coming from a generator. I packed up a tent and a few basics and headed to the ferry, the trip over wasn't so smooth and even though I don't normally suffer I was a little green
Bearing in mind the island is 3 miles long and about 1/2 a mile wide, I managed to clock up 10 miles a day on average with 20k-22k steps being recorded. The elevation was another thing with an average of 120 floors being climbed, all while wearing about 7-8kg of camera gear
I'm not sure that tent life is for me as I really struggle to get to sleep, but it was worth the lack of sleep for the people met, views, walks, and animals seen. Now back to the joys of trying to find another job in a very quiet market.

Arguing with Virgin Media. We had intermittent service for a month. It's not enough to qualify for credit but a numpty at Virgin told me I could get £8 a day, so I'm asking for £200

Re: What are you doing today ??
Flown over to the other side of Aussie to Perth for some work training. First time since Covid times. Tried to get out of it but with work dragging on in production I ran out of excuses. Here for two days and back on the redeye.
Training is out on the coast at Fremantle and I’m staying in an awesome hotel on the esplanade so not all bad. Currently sitting in Little Creatures brewery with a cider waiting on a wayu beef burger.
