I spoke with a couple of the guys there. The last 3 years they've had record sales. The lease is due to run out in March 2018. They wanted to move to bigger premises so they agreed to move to premises over in Merry Hill. They cancelled the lease at Birmingham. Then the new landlord had an offer from Jaguar Land Rover for a load of properties, including the one Triumph were moving to. Triumph B'ham got shafted.

They asked if they could stay at the Birmingham premises but the lease was already signed up for a new tenant. So they've got no where to go.

2 of the guys are off to BMW south of Birmingham in Lickey Hills. 2 others are going to DMC Ducati.

.....The group is a strange one, as its Russian owned and backed. Its been a loss making enterprise up until the last year or so.

Not good to hear as never good loosing decent dealers but people loosing jobs before Christmas is sh1te to hear. Hope everyone gets sorted out quickly.

Heard about this at work. It's really light in the midlands for Triumph dealers which is bizarre being near the home of Triumph.

I still use Staffordshire Triumph (BS Bikes) in Stoke. but that is a bit of a jaunt just for small things.

Well, in days gone by they had Windy Corner as the nearest dealer to the factory, they got shafted by Triumph as the showroom wasn't "glitzy" enough,
Stratstone took over the mantle in Leicester, that went in short order, they seemed more interested in selling cars and finance than bikes.
Seems that Triumph aren't that interested in getting a good dealer network set up.

In this day and age, looking at the changing dynamics of the retail industry, that ^ would be their most logical move.
They may even have the pick of the best & most suitable staff too.?

I wondered about that as they don't have an outlet anywhere near the factory, they seem a bit thin on the ground around the Midlands.

They can make more money I guess if they cut out the middle man. It does seem like an expensive venture though.

Streetbike in Halesowen have taken the mantle of local Triumph dealer.

It's a bit strange seeing Triumphs in next to Yamahas.

The new 1050 Speed Triple looks nice. But that's it. just nice. They've only got a white one so maybe the other colour is more eye catching. I think the 765 looks better.

The 1200 Tiger caught my eye though.
