Sore today. 28km and 700m of climbing of Red XC trails in the slop that be Winter. 700m of Red feels like 1100m of Blue!

My legs are really feeling it today, stairs are a challenge.

Been to the gym. First time in a very long time.

After the asthma attack the doc strongly suggested not running in the good weather.

Started with a personal trainer tonight.

Tomorrow most used words will be "oooh" and "ouch"

I had some random at the gym tell me I was racking the barbell incorrectly at the end of my back squats.

It's the way I've always done it, I didn't realise there was a correct way or a wrong way, I've never dropped a barbell and BTW go f.ck yourself.

You didn't realise there's a right and wrong way to do something? Given half the chance you'd be getting told you're shagging your mrs wrong and to stand back to see how it should be done.

Trying to get fit as you get older just seems to be more and more of a struggle. My body is forever throwing up fault codes

Made a boo boo this week with training. Did a kettle bell session on weds which punished my legs, only for the PT to do a number on them today.

Happy with the strength that's coming back. Zipped back up to 100kg on the leg press for the last set.

25km at the Forest of Dean cycle centre yesterday with friends. The weather was glorious and trails were mostly dried out miraculously.

I'm feeling it a bit today though, I've really let my cycling fitness drop

Done my achilles again, in the treadmill Tues time. A bit of k-tape seems to be keeping me moving at the moment.

Hammering the treadmill is what killed mine a few years back too. Hope it heals fast mate, it's a sh*t of an injury.

Ain't that the truth.

Fingers crossed, it seems like immediately stopping all activity and a couple of days rest have helped a lot. Still sore and niggly, but managed 30 mins on the cross trainer yesterday and a bit of strength. Maybe not the knacker's yard this week.

Sofa..?? Hell, I can barely get out of bed.

20-mile road ride on my MTB planned for this morning....which might be interesting, as my right hip has been bugging me on even the shortest rides for about a week.
