The owner of one of the tankers has said that the US has the wrong information about the attacks - it was above the waterline and on the opposite side. So it's not a mine or a torpedo but a missile.

Think it was a "mine" attached to the side by someone in a boat. They showed some footage of one of them being removed earlier, I think.

Ah, but look at who's calling the shots now.? - It would seem that nothing would be too obvious in Trump's vision of things.??Monty wrote:Nah, come on even the CIA wouldn’t expect to get away with that three timesStMarks wrote:Sounds like a CIA operation for the US, to push up the $ price of oil on the world market whilst also demonising Iran. Direct conflict with Iran seems an "appalling proposition" to any person of sound mind.
However a "well timed conflict" with Iran will be seen as an "election winner" to Trump.
Fwiw even back in Raygun's era, the CIA were already well versed in orchestrating local dissident groups to unwittingly perform their operations , and also (most importantly) be viably apportioned blame for the outcomes.

Yes...but the press are fairly anti-Trump as a rule, I doubt they'd lose much sleep throwing out more "Trump-is-behind-it"-babble if they could.
Let's call it for what is the most explanation....a bunch of Iranians acting either independently, or with some obscure Iranian govt. "approval".

what recent political events has shown us is that the public aren't really that interested in the truth. If a line is fed and people like it, they'll accept it.

At this rate, by the end of the year Trump will have assisted Gavrilo Princip, kidnapped the Lindbergh baby, and somehow been behind Watergate.

Read that
Look it up on Twitter.
Children stripped of their clothes. People kept in cages exposed to the elements. No access to the outside world. Kept on military bases to prevent outside inspection.
Concentration camps. In America. On Trump's orders.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
So in essence....IF you break the laws of this country and are found to have crossed the border illegally, you will be held accountable, si?? What do you suggest we do with them??
And bear in mind before you respond, as the article states, these are mainly Cuban nationals we're talking about....we can't send them back to anywhere other than the country they travelled from....Mexico, and Mexico won't take them - they're illegal there also.
Are we struggling to handle the problem? - Yes, of course we are.....but we're not the ones initiating the problem either.
I mean seriously, if don't like the way we do things here?....Then don't come here, simple as that. I'm sure I've heard that very same sentiment echoed on here countless times.....re: Syria, immigrants, etc.??
N'est pas??

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Maybe D41 is worried that people might emigrate to the USA and end up freeloading off the state.

I clearly have, and clearly disagree with much of it, that's all.Kwacky wrote:Read the Twitter thread. Because you clearly haven't.
Moreover, having transitioned from undocumented alien, to Temporary Resident, to Permanent Resident, and on to U.S. Citizen, I'll wager that puts me in a fairly good position to comment on it, based on experience rather than anything else.

You clearly disagree with it? What does that actually mean? You think it’s lies? You don’t think it’s cruel and inhumane treatment?D41 wrote:I clearly have, and clearly disagree with much of it, that's all.Kwacky wrote:Read the Twitter thread. Because you clearly haven't.

Yes you immigrated to US and became a citizen, but in context you came in a much different way with totally different resources and supports.
That’s like me saying I’m an authority on illegal boat people coming into Australia from Asia/Middle East because I immigrated here myself and became a citizen.
What a load of bollocks.

No, but there is a small body of water between us and Asia that is not to hard to cross in a basic boat. Middle East people pay their way to Asia then jump on a boat.D41 wrote:Does Australia share a border with Asia or the Middle East??
The actual geographical situation shouldn’t have a bearing on the human rights of those people.
