Popped down to DMC for a free burger. I told them that the bike creeps a little bit in first.

They've taken the bike off me. They've done an oil change. Now they're bleeding the clutch.

Bit of a pain I've got to wait around but I can't complain about the service.

The joys of Italian bike ownership

The dealer got the bike set up so that the secondary clutch didn't drag and creep the bike forward when it gear but without the throttle.

But it started to drag once the bike was hot.

They've adjusted the settings the problem switches between when the bike is hot and when it's cold.

MV have asked the dealer to take some measurements and report back, which they're going to do this afternoon.

Best case - MV give them some new settings and I get the bike back tomorrow. Worse case - they need to replace some bits. God knows how long that'll take with Brexit, stock issues and the Italian sense of urgency.

The tech explained what's going on, but it sounded like Martian to me.

There's a small shaft going through the secondary clutch to the main clutch hub. There's a nut on the shaft that can be adjusted. The machining on the shaft isn't to spec so the nut moves, which means that the clutch engages before the throttle is applied.

MV need to send out a new part.

We're waiting for an ETA.

I'm the meantime I've cancelled the suspension set up due for Monday.

And they've given me a KTM 890. I'll do a quick review later on.

Update from DMC - the part was due today but it's not arrived. They'll give me a call next week with an update.

Oh well, it's not like I can use it at the moment :(

It's still not fixed.

The work was due to be done on Tuesday but it got bumped out for some other work. Surely if the bike is booked into the diary the work should have been done that day, not swapped over for another job?

It's supposed to be on the bench this afternoon.

I want my bike back.

From when Jess worked in Customer Services at a car service dealership, I know there warranty work always got bumped if there was a better paying job come in. The customers were just fed a line about a delay on parts or some ‘issue’ that caused the delay.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

"They sent the wrong part"....has a familiar ring to it.
