Here we go, this is the usual Russian tactic, appear to be very aggressive to prevent anyone from attacking you

It looks like these are the last days of the opposition to Assad. Syria, Iran and Russia are ending the final pockets of resistance in Aleppo. There are lots of reports of civilians bearing the brunt of the bombardment and at close quarters.

This is a fantastic cause, share some love for Paul Golding. Make him proud!

There's a little 'insurgent-in-the-making' if ever there was one. Looks like a "Adopt A Puppy" ad.

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
Trump slagged off Obama when the last president suggested getting involved in Syria.
Now he's sending off cruise missiles to airbases.
There's a lot of fake news and counter fake news on social media following the gas attack.
It's all very Homeland.

It didn't, it only slowed him down. Boots on the ground ended Germany.
Syria is a proxy war with a few countries on each side. At least you knew who the enemy was in the Second World War

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
Time will tell, I reckon.
I have to hope that there's a method to what will inevitably be judged as "madness" by a predominantly left-wing press.
I'm sure that off-hand terms like 'collateral damage' will be bandied about...and I wonder if a Democrat govt. was in place, what action (if any) would have been taken?? (we'll never know)
Do you pull take out a threat BEFORE the trigger has been pulled, or afterwards, and then deal with bad PR as opposed to a bad body count....?

As we know in most walks of life it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission.

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
What threat is Syria to the USA?
You could bomb the Nazis as you knew your enemy and where they were. In Syria no one knows who the enemy is or where they are. Every time the west does this we make enemies of more of the Islamic community though Syria has plenty of Christians being killed to.

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
Don't have the answer's obviously and not saying it's right in any form but in WW2 we carpet bombed city's with unguided munitions.
The people in charge all through history have been prepared to use force and accept civilian causlties. Perhaps with strategic targeting and smart weapons we can now have a positive impact and minimise unacceptable casualties. I believe the recent cruise missle attacks targeted the hardware with the aim to disable the ability to use chemical weapons. Surely taking the big bat of the bully is better than letting him go and beat people to death again ????
What other choice do we have as this enemy doesn't want us to negotiate it wants us all dead.
You can't reason with these people and bombing or ground fighting creates un acceptable civilian casualties. Rock and a hard place. What's the answer ???

Re: Syria, Immigrants and world politics.
I think the biggest problem is trying work who the enemy is.
