How's the bike wearing now you've got quite a few miles on it - considering the wet winter and not much road salt (I guess)?

We've had loads of road salt. 2 days after the last wash I noticed that the rear hugger was covered in the stuff.

There are a couple of parts showing the effects of winter riding. The black frames holding the screen in place, the gear linkage and one of the cable holders on the back brake are weathered. There are two large fairing bolts on the lower fairing which take the brunt of crap and they could do with being replaced.

Otherwise the bike is doing good. The baffle box before the link pipe looks brand new despite being covered in road crud, likewise the rear shock and radiator.

The bar ends have had the paint rubbed off from the last cover. I'll see if I can get those replaced.

15,000 service done, although the bike isn't quite there on the mileage I wanted it doing this month while the dealer isn't too busy and so it's ready for Spring.

New chain and sprockets and the crash bungs have been fitted. The mechanic said that it was quicker to replace the air filter than clean it.

I'm now skint until April (facepalm)

Its nice to be in the knowledge that everything is ticking over well for your bike, doesn't matter if you're skint...you don't buy a bike to have money!! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

That's very true mate. £300 for the rear shock, £450 for the service, £120 for the tyre and my insurance in coming up.

Bike feels really sweet this morning. 13,700 miles on the clock and it still feels like it's being run in.

Kawasaki have always had a reputation for very strong and robust engine design / build. I guess it comes from their Heavy Engineering division.

Had a letter to remind me my warranty is up. I think I'm going to extend for peace of mind. It's not much in the grand scheme of things

Mines had a really arduous winter under its dust cover, covered in ACF50....

£9400 for the non abs bike seems a bargain.

And as a bonus it's a very good dealers. Clive Padgetts brother owns it I think.
