How did the ego thing work out for you when she came and trained alongside you? There's a female physique competitor that trains at my gym and if I'm going for a volume session she will be matching me for weight haha

No issues at all. She's clearly much stronger. It was good watching her work (in a non-pervy way), seeing how controlled her movements were and the way she was engaging her muscles. She wasn't a talker though so we didn't exchange tips :)

That's something I find satisfying where I go to the gym, there's a few people that always work out properly. Controlled and mindful execution of movements. The only reason they're looking in the mirror is to ensure they're doing it right, not to check themselves out

This is a proper old school backstreet gym. It's in need of freshening up and some of the equipment is old, but the owner is there pretty much all the time, it's rare to see anyone with an ego and there are some serious bodies in there. I keep my head down, do my stuff and get out, but if you need to talk to someone, 9 times out of 10 they're happy to help or offer you a cut in if you're waiting for a piece of equipment. I don't think I've seen any equipment hoggers in there.

So I've strained my anterior deltoid and possibly a small portion of the medial.. pretty painful.

I can't even foam roller my quads and calves because of the position I need to be in hurting my shoulder - same goes for missionary. Good thing about the latter, the gf does all the work now :D

TMI Cav :p

Good legs session yesterday. A quiet gym so blasted round in no time. New PB on barbell squats and leg press. My legs don't seem to be getting any bigger (which I'm fine with) but they are getting stronger.

Never TMI unless its your parents! haha

To give my shoulder a rest I did cardio yesterday, 20 mins for each: cross trainer, stair master, treadmill.

Weirdly, I actually felt okay but the pace was awfully slow on the run at 7:40min/km

Top man!

Regarding food, are you eating more calories than you were before?

A friend of mine found that by eating an extra 300kcals, eating better and training more they not only felt better but lost a noticeable amount of fat and gaining considerable strength.

Really good to see your progress

I started tracking what i ate and was under 1500 a day and struggling to loose any weight or fat, my pt had some ideas and explained that my body was on the edge of starvation mode so was storing fat, we figured out a new target for me (2000) with plenty of protein but no powders or shakes... Since then things have started going much better and i have way more energy in the evening.

Nice.. even 2000kcals is low for someone your size (you look 6ft+). I'm on 2100-2200kcals a day and am losing body fat again now, last time I did this I dropped 1.5 stone in approx. 3 months.

Happy for your progress though, are you weighing yourself or going on measurements?

Going by weight, currently 77kg and 5'10" ... Down fom 80 on the iom trip last year.
If i go again this year the extra energy will be useful.

Not at tall as I thought then haha. That's not a bad weight as it is.. do you have a target?

I'm 5'9" and currently about 84kg, I aim to get down to where you are now but maintain the strength and power while increasing my speed. If I can get back to 160kg squats i'll be over 2x bodyweight for the exercise.

I was aiming for 70 but now im actually gaining strength i think 75 is more realistic... Not done squats yet but might have to try one day.

It was back and shoulders last night, but my triceps were (and still are) in tatters afters Wednesday's work out. So I switched it low weights and slow movement reps. I like back sessions so I was a bit pissed off I couldn't do my usual routine, but a change is as good a a rest.

18 mile run this morning, the final long run before Southampton marathon in 2 weeks.

Did a simulated race run, which went pretty well until the last mile when i hit a wall. I really need to eat more when I run, it's one of my biggest failings.

I've been concentrating on the bigger lifts recently; deadlift, bench, squats mostly.

Yesterday I actually tried to go for a heavy weight for deadlift and I managed 140kg for 2 reps - I had veins bulging everywhere, I forgot to breathe, it was tough.

Squats up to 130kg
Bench is currently at 90kg for 5x5, probably equates to 115kg 1RM.

My shoulder is alright now but it is now 1 elbow and both wrists causing me pain so I've ordered some supports and wraps
