Re: For fooks sake
He was a jobsworth and went over each bike finding issues with documents and reg plate on one of the bikes. He got to about €400 of fines, then stated we could go on our wayD41 wrote:And I'm guessing that's not a good thing, Duke??
He was showing off to a young lady gendarme we reckon. She did look nice in those boots mind

Re: For fooks sake
Significant changes are being introduced in October this year to personal injury claims which will have a knock on for damage only matters as well.C00kiemonster wrote:
Unless they change the way accidents are dealt with we are all going to be risking it every time we ride or drive. It's ludicrous. Makes you want to drive round on cloned plates as even if they catch you the penalties are tiny
And the changes are not for the better either. We are bracing ourselves for a real backlash.
It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next

Re: For fooks sake
I've seen those.
I'm all for reducing the costs of claims made but not at the expense of Claimants' rights to have access to legal advice and loss of damages.
I like the New Zealand model of no fault compensation claims. https://www.macrobusiness.com.au/2012/0 ... insurance/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: For fooks sake
The Versys is booked in for next Friday (26th). I'll get a new chain and sprocket kit put on it as well while it's in.

Re: For fooks sake
The bike is all fixed and I've had a letter from Carole Nash that the claim has been withdrawn.
Hopefully that's the end of it.
I'm still very pissed off that I've done feck all wrong and I'm the one out of pocket. But there's bugger all I can do about it

Re: For fooks sake
Just over £600.
No, I've got my NCB back, which is why I've decided to pay for it myself. I had a £300 excess, so that, losing 2 years NCB and having to declare a claim for 5 years didn't seem worth going through the insurance.

Re: For fooks sake
Glad it’s fixed ok but not the circumstances. Unfortunately we now have a society where crime pays and being honest doesn’t.

Re: For fooks sake
Exactly what Duke has said.
Glad it's sorted but you really shouldn't be 600 sheets out of pocket but realise you've done the best in a very bad situation.

Re: For fooks sake
Glad to hear it's fixed but real shame about the price of it all.

Re: For fooks sake
Can't believe this. Just caught up. Glad your bikes fixed, but that is shit news overall that you get no rights to claim off anyone.
Makes you wonder what the point of insurance is. It doesn't seem to protect you.
