Re: TT 2018 Thread
So unofficial word from Steve, he's not great but will live, deffo will be in a cage on his leg so no more riding this year. 5 riders involved with the course car but he took the brunt of it head on.
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Re: TT 2018 Thread
My thoughts and best wishes go to Dan Kneans family and friends. I know and accept deaths happen at the IoM most years, but it doesn’t make it any easier.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome for Steve Mercer, I suspect the CotC will have some stiff questions to answer over that.
Here’s hoping that’s the end of it for this year.

Good to hear he will live etc, awful luck to have an accident like that.Cavetroll87 wrote:So unofficial word from Steve, he's not great but will live, deffo will be in a cage on his leg so no more riding this year. 5 riders involved with the course car but he took the brunt of it head on.
5?? Some serious miscommunication between marshalls and safety people sounds like to me.

Hicky fastest tonight so far - nearly less than 17mins for the lap. Came in and dedicated it to his teammate

Re: TT 2018 Thread
Just having a catch up on this as i have missed all practices for TT! I realise the TT there is always a risk of life or injury but this early on? That some.serious miscomunication between RC and the emergency services if racers were allowed around the track the wrong way when emergency services were heading around the track too. Someone will be up for the cut there

msg from Steve Mercers Mrs
Just to give you an update Steve had surgery early Thursday morning for pelvic and leg injuries which went as well as the doctors could have hoped at this stage. Other injuries include a broken ankle, heel, T12 vertebrae, a fracture to his larynx and damage to his neck which means he’s not currently able to breathe for himself without support. They’re keeping him heavily sedated most of the time to make him more comfortable whilst he recovers from his injuries. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us to get over to him so quickly and for the hundreds of messages of support we have received. I have been reading some of your messages out to him to let him know everyone is rooting for him to get better. I’m sorry to everyone I haven’t replied to yet, Steve and the boys are keeping me busy, but I will try to get back to you all over the coming days. X

Re: TT 2018 Thread
Race day today. Mist on the island so might be delays.
On another matter - i watched the new TT coverage last night. The new production company isnt good imo.
Matt Roberts is good, Steve Plater and Cam Donald are OK, but Jodie Kidd? Doesnt have a lot of knowledge clearly and more wooden than a spoon. Editing is poor too sadly.

I watched the ITV coverage last night as well - some of the rear end slides he was doing - OMG. He was at 99% i reckon. Such a fine line..duke63 wrote:134.432mph?

Re: TT 2018 Thread
drifting at 190mph at the bottom of Bray Hill is what impressed me most I think , such a shame the bike let him down .

Re: TT 2018 Thread
Michael Dunlop has done a 129.197mph lap on his CBR600RR which is a new lap record, breaking the one he set 5 years ago.
