I've done it a few times before. Nastier going from nights to days, but never fun regardless. Just the trip that keeps on giving this trip!
All be a bad memory in a week, hopefully. Except the helicopter pilots have gone on strike and our storage vessel can't crew change tomorrow. So hopefully that is resolved by next week!

Spent the day walking round the bike show, having a natter, sitting on bikes, and complaining at the lack of eye candy.
Knew Frankie would take his camera so didn't bother taking mine or any photos.
Managing another break down between my ex and my son from offshore.
He got well out of hand and he attempted self harm again. I'm getting flown off a day early tomorrow to get back asap.
He's hard work and I've had to put a lot of learning and effort in over the years to keep him stable. but she's not done any at all and has completely created this mess today by her ignorance and childish behaviour towards him. Just need offshore to be done so he can live with me full time.

Not what you need when you’re away. Hope he’s ok..
Only a couple more weeks of school and then he gets a good 7 week break over Christmas/Summer holidays. The worst meltdowns he has are always near the end of a hard term.
After a few more phone calls tonight it seems the exes partner was the main driver to catalyst for this event. Placing demands on Byron in a social situation so far out of his comfort it was never going to go any other way unfortunately. And his mum isn’t good at picking up on the clues he’s about to tap out
or the fortitude to tell her partner to back off.

Surviving on 4 hrs sleep after 30 hrs awake and 14 hrs of travel yesterday. Will get home about 10am this morning. With one more flight to go.
Getting Byron after school today. Poor guy has barely been surviving. Had a few calls in between the mayhem of travel. He doesn’t want to go back to his mums ever. Looks like I’m in for a lot of work this break. Until offshore finishes I don’t have another option.

Tough time, but I know you're made of strong stuff. Byron is a lucky lad and I hope he is back on track soon.

Had a good hike out this morning, very foggy, very cold. I have to laugh this morning watching all the dog owners, its seems today was the turn of the dogs. The amount of them leading the owner, sulking due to the route the owners wanted to go, so much so the owners changed course... never seen such happy dogs lol. And one sulking about his ball being in the river, Owner almost falling in getting it... Again dog very happy lmao.... funny to watch for sure.
I had a lovely couple of days annual leave this week, spending as much time as possible with my Son but also making the most of him being at pre-school yesterday with a mountain bike ride.
Jess had a couple of days off midweek (due to being rostered on every weekend for the next 3 months) so with a beautiful warm day we did a hike in the Blue Mountains down to a secluded swimming hole. Gorgeous spot and the water temp was bang on! Pity it was a 200m climb and 35 deg C coming out only 2.5km though each way so easily doable.

Looks like a great place for an impromptu mid-week date Kiwi' , but as for the "swim" bit..
