I'm shattered. I did an easy 20-mile road ride on my MTB this morning and I'm really feeling it right now.
Ah well, one bad day once in a while is a small price to pay for all the good ones.

Shockingly bad day at work but I took my boy over to the Forest of Dean on my courtesy electric mountain bike for a quick blast. It certainly brightened my day

Have you been living under a rock?

I warn you though, it’s a rather expensive rabbit hole to go down.

Jess started making noises about me being a bit silly getting back into MTB post spinal fusion.
So the last two months I’ve been banging on about doing a paramotoring course and flying about under a rag with a lawnmower engine on my back.
She seems rather keen for me to revisit MTB now

I made the most of the good weather and took the dog out for a long walk. She's knackered.

I'm in the office today. There's lots of work being done to reduce our working space from 3 wings of the building down to 1. It looks like they've accepted there's no chance of people returning to full time office life.

I need to get some cycling in. It's cold & windy as all hell right now, so I'll give it another hour and give it a shot.

Answering the door to trick or treaters. I'm not a fan, but Mrs K has decorated the front of the house and put a pumpkin in the front window.
And she's gone out and left me to it.
There's hundreds of kids. I reckon there's parents bringing their kids in from other areas. The entrance to our estate is packed full of parked cars.

I’ve not been a fan either, NZ seemed to be more British on the influences when I was growing up, where Australia seems to have been influenced by the US a lot more so Halloween is a big thing here. I avoided it like the plaque up until my kids were a few years into school.Kwacky wrote: ↑31 Oct 2023, 19:22 Answering the door to trick or treaters. A school mum up here decided to organise a community system for our little area up the mountain. Orange balloons get delivered to every house (with a note) and if you are happy to be involved, you put the balloon on your letterbox. Kids won’t visit houses without one. It’s turned into a rather lovely community event now. We don’t have a lot going on here due to the isolated nature of the area and this has turned into a pretty sociable event.
So Jess went to town with decorating our place, which I begrudgingly got roped into as well. She dressed up in old scrubs with fake blood and we sat in the front yard with gins. All the kids up here were so amazingly polite, and had to be encouraged to take more than one item. We had lollies left over in the end.
All our teenagers were out including Byron. Groups of their friends organised to meet at ours and go from there, and they put a good effort into costumes. They all had a ball.
So I’m converted a bit. But only due to the community nature it’s fostering up here. We are a small community and other than the primary school and pub, there is literally no other community gathering opportunities.

Just taken the boy out trick or treating to a couple of houses as it's the last year he'll get away with it. The girl went with one of her friends.

I think it's because the local Facebook group complained last year about the kids from social housing being absolute shits
