Re: The new improved fitness thread
My training has gone to shit.
I'm going to get in touch with one of the PT Instructors from my old gym, do an hour a week with him and try and get myself back into shape. He's working out of another gym but if he has clients his clients don't have to subscribe to the gym. If the gym is alright I might join anyway.

Just done my PB for the 10k in Stafford of 52 minutes.
Well pleased and it was quite comfortable too.

I've just run Mortimer 10k, started with a little niggle in my foot which fortunately went after the first could of k's. Finished in a little over 50 mins.

It's worth taking up running just for the multitude of girls with hot asses that you end up following.
Some very tasty views this morning.

There was a guy on the telly a few years back who said he had a "marathon wife".
He'd find a hot piece of ass at the start and then follow it for the race, said it kept him motivated

Ha ha I did exactly that with a big cycle race I did back in NZ. It was 160km and 3 big climbs over 300m. When ever I felt dispondent I just found a nice girls butt and tried to keep up

Seems i'm not the only one then.
One babe was doing her warm ups before the start, sticking her fit lycra clad butt out and gyrating it around.

5 mile recovery run tonight, felt good (apart from some foot pain)

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I'm really surprised by my level of fitness at the moment. Stood before the run yesterday my heart rate was flitting about 50bpm, and during the run averaged 135bpm. Similar runs last year averaged about 155bpm.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
My heart rate is 180bpm during a 5km run on 35 minute pace.... but I can swim for 2 hours without stopping and do 5km (200 lengths, I think that's 5km)

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Any running and my heart has more bpm than a rave anthem.
I went to the gym yesterday morning to do shoulders.
I haven't been in a couple of weeks due to the ol' Destiny 2 issue.
**** me.
You'd think I haven't been for a year.
And I've spent that year in bed.
In space!
Honestly, I couldn't convince my body (or my mind for that matter) to do all the reps in some of the sets.
My plan to go at lunchtime to do some strength work was quickly shelved.
Maybe next week!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I've not lifted weights for a couple of weeks and I've had this crappy cough for almost as long. I'm seeing my PT on Thursday and I'm sure I'm going to die.
Boxercise was a struggle this evening.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I went to the gym last night.. did the stuff my Physio gave me then did 3x20rep sets in tripleset form. I've lost a lot of strength and even more endurance. I could only manage 8kg dumbells for the full 20 reps on my last set of incline press

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Had a session with a PT I know from the last gym. he's a really nice bloke, very chilled so it doesn't feel like you're being instructed.
Did a mix of chest, upper back and shoulders work using supersets and slow reps. The plan is to get my endurance and stamina up and to cut fat. He reckons physically my body is in good shape, so he's not worried about building up muscle, that'll come anyway.
Finished off with some boxing drills with HIIT work to help me prep for my fights in November.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Gentle 5 mile taper run tonight, was going well until about 4.5 miles when the foot pain kicked in again.
Couple of days rest now until the half marathon on Sunday

Re: The new improved fitness thread
In order to gauge where I'm at I did a relatively small and simple strength work out.
I failed on 90kg on the 2nd rep. This is how far I've dropped off since my knee injury and moving in.
Still, my target this time is weight loss and muscle speed/endurance... changing the training somewhat and I will see where I get to by christmas
