Mostly back at the gym. I do need to sort out a new 2 day routine, because that's all I'm managing to do in a week, with taekwondo on a monday and boxercise on a Tuesday, I can't fit in 3 gym visits a week.

12 mile run this morning. It's been about 5 months since I've done that sort of distance, and it showed!

Was supposed to be a 10-11 mile run tonight, my watch showed 13.1 when I finished!

Time for a couple of rest days now, but done 30 miles this week so happy with progress.

Nice work. You've really got the running bug.

Gym for me last night. I really can't settle into the new place. It is what it is I guess, a cheap gym. It's got decent equipment and there's a lot there, but the people who use it don't give a shit about anyone else, so there are weights and dumbbells all over the place and the staff don't care, you never see them tidy up or tell users off. So when you want to do an exercise you struggle to find what you need. The chest press I used last night only had 1.25 and 2.5kg weights on it. So I had to hunt around for 10s and 15s.

Then when I was doing dumbbell work I couldn't find a pair of 16s. There should be 3 sets. One was in the machine area, another one was over by the body weight section. Lord knows where the other 4 are.

Plus the people who use it are generally dicks. Early to mid 20s blokes and far too busy standing around in groups chatting about their "mad car bruv" (yeah, you live at home, your mum treats you like you're 7 and that's your dad's car) to get on with a work out, or they've brought their latest bird along to show off to. I reckon my wife and I are the oldest in there.

My legs are going to hurt tomorrow. Basingstoke half training run again, but with a boost to the mileage. Tonights total 16.2 miles, I'm knackered now

Went to the gym yesterday. First time in a while so did the big three: squats, deadlifts and bench press.

Went today and did squats, overhead press, bent over rows then a load of cable work for the shoulders.

This week I took the small amount of strength work out of the program I'm doing, expanded it and dedicated another session to it.

So, the idea is
Mon - Fri Mornings: Low weight, high reps.
Mon, Weds, Fri Lunchtimes: More weight, less reps.

Although I didn't go on Monday (bank holiday) and after a midnight pukey daughter I was too tired on Friday, but it felt good.
I don't feel burnt out, and I've had pleasant aches all week so this might last.
