A prison ship? Why not??

I think HM govt. used one or two of them as little as ten or fifteen years ago.

Very novel idea.

do they, at least, have licencing for firearms in the US?

different subject but we were better off in the UK when we had dog licences, at minimum, there is registration that way.

Can't speak for other states I'm in California), but for my CCP ( concealed carry permit)...yes, there's a background check, a psyche evaluation, and most fun of all, you have to be shot (wearing a BP vest) to give yourself an understanding of the responsibility involved.

It's a pretty big deal, I'm told.

I'll never forget the rangemaster when I qualified .....passed me my new vest...
Me..."Hey, this thing has a hole in it??"
RM...."I tested it first"
Me...."How??"
RM...."I wore it and was shot in it"
Me...."Are you serious??"
RM...."Yes...that's the 19th vest I've tested".
Me..."!!!!#####!!!!!!!"

Lolz. Nah....he used a .32, which is definitely big enough to get your attention.

I still have the bullet as a keepsake. I'm the sentimental type.

The latest argument on Twitter by the pro-gun lobby is that liberals support the murder of unborn children so they can't complain about the death of kids in the schools.

So pro-lifers think it's ok to kill because some people support abortion?

Right.

Yeah....things like this tend to draw all the wackos out of the woodwork for their 15 minutes.
I'm watching a bunch of teenagers protesting at State Capitols across the country & D.C. right now. Pubescent rhetoric is not to be trifled with.

I guess this shows quite how ingrained the gun culture is. I'm genuinely gob smacked that this actually happens and that you can win a military grade assault rifle for £3.50!
