It's the system that needs changing. Regardless of who or what Party is in government, the same people will be running the country.

Indeed. It won't change, though, because people are happy with the status quo...

Re: the liberals - unfortunately, a lot of people who were staunch Lib voters genuinely believed in the things that Clegg promised he would never turn his back on.

And now, they come behind the joke protest party for the single-issue, hard of thinking ****.

@kwacky, I understand your pain dealing with the **** on the end of the phone. When my FIL passed on very suddenly a few years ago, the MIL was left to tidy things up. The number of times she phoned companies up to close accounts, and even after explaining he had died, was meet with the statement "we can only deal with the account holder".

(facepalm)

Our CRM (customer relationship manager) just told me that a customer is expecting a project to be handed over today.

Whoops. It's a shame that it's two weeks behind because you take two weeks to respond to every email, phone call, etc etc, then.

Naturally, the CRM has got shirty with me about this.

*stabby* :D

Not sure about that but any country that is as massively in debt as ours will always have to cow-toe to its creditors regardless of which Party colour is PM.

Did they get into the garage as well?

Sounds like there's been a few daytime thefts around your way recently. They tend to hit an area then move on.

My dad's not well. The older you get, the more ominous that sounds when you say it.

But Sunday night had him calling for an ambulance. Which is a big thing because my dad hasn't been to the doctors in at least ten years. In fact, I could probably count the number of times I've known him go to the quacks on one hand. With fingers missing!

Anyhoo, the first responder on scene was one of best friends from childhood, which was good to hear that someone my dad knew was there to help him. He got checked out by the paramedics and, after checking him over and getting him calmed down, was encouraged to visit the doc to get checked out.

He didn't want to cause a fuss, obviously.
But when i rang him on Tuesday he sounded awful, and had rang the docs.

He's had bloods taken and 6 different types of medication given.

I'm now sat with him, watching him fall asleep (just napping, not terminally) and desperately wishing there was something I could do. The only thing I've been able to do for him is the washing up, which took all of 10 minutes.

He's nonchalantly reckons it's cancer, and at 76 he's "had a good run", but that's not really what I want to hear.
Even though he might be right. I mean he's smoked like forever. Seriously, I think he was born puffing on a Woodbine! And they're those horrible fags without filters.

But neither of us are very good at showing emotion. We've always been like that, especially with each other.
I told him that smoking wasn't going to help the sore, swollen throat that he's suffering with right now, to which he replied that I "might" be right.

I think the worst thing is I live 3 hours away. I can't always be there for him. Even though work are pretty good at getting people away for this kind of thing, you can't always rely on that.
I just worry that somethings going to happen and I can't be there to deal with it. Not that I even know how to deal with anything like this.

Not really sure where I'm going with this. I've been hovering over the submit button for 5 minutes wondering whether to bother.

But this is me venting. Apologies if it's a bit morose, just seeing if getting things off my chest will help.
