Both bikes are getting a full wash and polish. If I've got time I'll get the acf50 out as well

Fitted some new rear indicators. The 13 year old originals were falling apart and looked like something out of the 90s. Swapped them for the standard OEM ones from a later bike.

I gave the bike a good wash this afternoon, got it all nice and clean again.. then looked at the blue sky and took it out for a quick blast.

Last ride in summer gear, it was very chilly even with the thermal liners in.

The new exhaust sounds great. It's a little louder than stock and had a much deeper tone to it. It does have a very aggressive tone when your on it. Not bad for £60

No time to clean it.... been out riding it.... Ha ha.... Was a nice day out yesterday, lots of flooded roads, closed roads and detours. Glad I have my route checker on, could see where I had been... it was a bit of a follow the road and see where it goes time of day :D

Cleaned it. Scrubbed up pretty good for a nearly 14 year old bike.

Thoughts? It's 10.8K and I could probably get 4K for mine. So 7k for a new bike with a 4-year factory warranty?

I asked about the new zx6r when the sx went in for its service. I might test one in the spring.

I've blown both fork seals following that MCN journo around Rutland a few weeks ago. Tell me why without telling me why I shouldn't get a new bike with a 4-year warranty?

I don't think fork seals are covered by warranty ...

Get it, the years your body could tolerate a 600 sports bike are dwindling, enjoy it while you can!!

That's the wrong question to ask us.... Where's your nearest dealer? We'll give you an escort and help you choose ImageImage

I'm the wrong person to give advice here, I have a new bike on order right now, there's a chance it will be delivered on my birthday (rock)

If you like it and can afford it then it's a Christmas present to yourself

For what it's worth, in stock form it's going to be more lethargic than your current bike... however... let it breathe and it'll be a spritely thing that's more suited to the road than your current bike :)

If you can afford it, like the styling, and want a change of bike.... DO IT!

I popped into Potteries Motorcycles yesterday to see that 40th-anniversary paint scheme in the flesh, but they don't have any of the 2024 bikes in yet. I'm still very tempted, but something I'd not considered is I don't have a garage anymore and probably won't in the next 12 months unless there is a housing price and interest rate crash. My man flat has off-road parking, but I'm not sure I'd want to leave a 10k bike outside, plus insurance, so I might have to wait a bit. In other news, I bumped into Rick (Ricciardo) yesterday, he's packed in his job in London, moved up to Stoke and now working at Potteries Motorcycles, and yes before you ask he says he can do mates rates!

Yes, it's a few ponies down at the top end with more in the midrange, but nothing a full system wouldn't sort out.

Must admit though, I did get a bit distracted by this.

Don't get the 899 based on performance... our bikes are faster, or at least mine has been on trackdays :)

Yeah full system and I'm sure there are a few other small cheap mods which help it breathe better too.
