I've not managed to see much so far.
The lade looked good in the Rugby 7s. I'll be surprised if they don't win it.
Always nice to see our boxers get off to a good start.

Been watching a bit of the women's cycling...tough course they have, but still managing a good pace.
Caught a few other things but nowt special...a boat capsized somewhere....

You could tell the lassie cyclist was dead on impact....no muscle spasms, nowt at all. Nasty to watch.
Perhaps even more telling was that there was no added comments from the TV crew until well after the finish.....they'd have been all too happy to announce that she was injured but receiving attention, etc.
Be interesting to see what the autopsy results say. A bicycle helmet isn't anywhere near as strong as a bike lid, yet the speeds involved at that level are often very similar.

A Dutch Olympic Committee official revealed she sustained "three small fractures in her spine, a heavy concussion and she has to stay on the intensive care overnight".
Immediately after the race, the UCI said in a statement: "Ms van Vleuten is conscious, able to communicate."

Had that coming, I guess. I read a while back that even the top US military types aren't even close to where the Olympic shooters are in terms of accuracy.....the army/cops etc. spend quite a bit of time doing their stuff...with the 'athletes', that's the ONLY thing they do.
Can't remember what I scored last time I fired......48/50 or sommit, which is canny. There's a left-eye/right hand co-ordination thingy which is a big help if you have it.....gives a more 'balanced discharge' or sommit..../

On a different note I just saw NZ getting beaten by Japan in the Rugby 7's. For anyone not into Rugby, that's roughly the equivalent of Barcelona being beaten by Aston Villa.

Yup and the girls lost to the Aussies for the gold, that was hard to swallow

My 5 year old has always enjoyed his sport but he cant get enough of the Olympics
He will watch cycling, shooting, diving, kayaking, boxing, rugby, gymnastics, swimming. You name it he will watch it and enjoy cheering on his team.
No bad thing for a young lad imo and he did a 5 hour football camp as well as his swimming lesson today as well.
