People have no morals these days
For the second time since owning the Volvo someone has driven into it while parked and caused a fair amount of damage., then just driven off.
Fortunately one of my wife's customers from her old business was in the car park and recognised our car and was thoughtful enough to write the registration number of the other car down. According to the wife, she indicated the other car barely batted an eye lid after crashing into our car and then just drove off.
Now the fun of dealing with the insurance companies and police again.

I wintessed the same thing at a carpark. Woman pulled into a space and scraped all down the side of the car. Got out and looked at the damage on the parked car with a disgusted face as though it was in the wrong. Got back in her car and drove off.
I wrote down teh number plate and waited for the owner to come back.

That sucks mate sorry to hear that, I was lucky as I had this happen to my old CBR6, knocked over in a car park, but the guy was actually a decent human being and left all his contact details tied to my handlebars, so there are still a few decent people about, just sorry yours wasnt one of them Nutz

Had this done to me too, cost my insurance company £2k to correct the bent bonnet, bumper, left wing and respray on a Merc, was not best pleased!

I ment ASKMid, and according to DVLA the car hasn't been taxed since 2006. So like a dutiful citizen I've just phoned the old bill to report it, and guess who has to take their driving licence, insurance, and MOT into the nearest police station....D6Nutz wrote:That's about it. That's shit, Jon.
Was it in a car park with CCTV? The video may give police some insight into the individual concerned. Quite often these people are well known to Plod.
If they spent more money on ANPR cameras and less on speed cameras, we might get this scum off the roads altogether.

I think the police should ask for all your details to be honest. They have to be fair and impartial. Everyone in an accident should give full details.

Yeah, I know.. It just pisses me off. I had this not so long ago with another car that crashed into the Volvo. Took all my paperwork into the police station and was made to feel like I had done wrong, then was informed that there was insufficient evidence to pursue a case.D6 wrote:I think the police should ask for all your details to be honest. @Duke - I'm going to give Sainsburys a call tomorrow and see if they have CCTV coverage of where the car was parked, it can only help if there is anything shown.

Re: People have no morals these days
Crap news D6Nutz some people are d#cks.
Me and my GF witnessed a car reverse into someone a few weeks ago.
He knew he hit this car took a quick look and before I could get a pen out he wheel spinner off and zoomed through asda car park. Though he had a big bent in the back of his car and clearly had a scrape too afterwards.
I talked to the driver that was hit and he was a stand up guy, he had a family in the back (big people carrier) and he said that the driver was young he will learn, took a look at his car and said no damage to mine so no point complaining was absolutely fine!

Re: People have no morals these days
Really gutted reading this, Nutz...it just seems that no one cares and no one will take responsibility for their actions. Hope it's sorted soon and they get the git responsible...
Sorry I missed church, I was busy practicing witchcraft!
