Destroyed a gearbox casing on a large isolation valve. The mechanical stop was mis-adjusted and wasn't very robust
Luckily the valve I was closing is never to be opened again, so some belzona instant metal mix and stop-aq weather seal tape sorted it out

Just having a quiet day after waking up with a pretty decent migraine, had to miss a ride with some friends so just being a hermit.

Yesterday. Sat on the beach, cooked on the BBQ, drank gin.
The forecast for today's activities is similar.

Relish your downtime Jon, while some of us are nose to the grindstone as usual. It looks better from the outside, this having to work for a living

Re: What are you doing today ??
Been to J&S to try on some helmets as my Shoei is 4 1/2 years old now, Scorpions seem to have a very similar fit to Shoei so I'm looking at the Exo tech evo flip front helmets, they have the newest EC safety standard approval and are about half the cost of a replacement GT-Air 2.
Also have to go in to work about 4 hours early for a CPC course so shouldn't have to drive after that, nice early night for me.

Sat at home with the Mrs and missed tonight's bike meet in Bromyard. The dog has got the wild shites so had the day off work to take him to the vets.
Went to Silverstone for the GP over the weekend.
I'm itching to get on my bike!

Good news being out the sling.
Must also be positive if the physio is happy to push you.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The weather finally brightened up so we headed to the beach today.
No surf so I hired a standup paddle board to try. It's good fun, and I managed to get up on my feet fairly easily (before falling back off) got the hang of it after a short while. It's bloody good exercise, I'm knackered now.
Now drinking cider to recover.

I can highly recommend getting a kayak. Last time I went out on mine I caught 35 mackerel. Only two were keepers though.D6Nutz wrote: ↑10 Aug 2023, 17:11 The weather finally brightened up so we headed to the beach today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Going to the pub to meet some mates, including a bloke I used to work with. I've not seen him for about 10 years.
Then off to the football. First home game of the season, new owners and a tribute to Trevor Francis. It should be quite the atmosphere.
