It's a proper weapon. Just did 90 miles in rain, beautiful sunshine, a hail storm, and I one point it snowed!
Happy new bike day Monty..

It looks very special.
Should the chain be that slack at standstill ?

No, I don't think so, it wasn't like that when it was delivered. I noticed it this morning when I was fitting some bits.

A quick look online at stock photos seems to suggest they do run the chain on the loose side.

So far over the last week, I've managed to get 10 hours and 441 miles on it. It's getting easier and I can do around an hour without having to stop. But bu66er me (literally) it hurts to begin with. It's booked in next Saturday for the first service, so just another 180 miles before I can actually give it some beans.

599 miles done and it's 22 miles to the dealer for its first service on Saturday. 621 miles is almost exactly 1000 Km.

It's back after 2 months, just in time for the winter! I just hope we get an Indian summer.

HAHA it's back from the insurance company, not the dealer.
It took fecking ages as they valued the repairs at over 60% of its value and the at-fault insurance wouldn't agree to the costs at first. The whole system is a scam, they were charging them £1600 a week for an SV650 replacement bike. So around 12K in hire bike costs alone and we wonder why all our insurance premiums are going up.

Pleased to see you've got her back at last Monty, and fwiw I utterly agree with your comments about the insurance situation.
At least you haven't really missed much summer, think we've only had about two days so far this year..

Aside from the old biddy trying to squish you, how are you enjoying the bike?
I tried the Ducati Hyper 698 last month and these bikes make so much sense on our overcrowded roads.

Absolutely love it, it's perfect for the Peak District back roads and 90 feels fast unlike the ZX6. The seat took a lot to get used to, really painful after just 30 minutes, but I've fitted a US Seat Concepts seat and now I can tour on it.
