I don't have the gym-ego-issue anymore, mostly because the people in the gym have seen me leg press 400+kg, squat 160kg and do 30+ jumping push ups. I'm happy to do 10kg dumbell presses or a 50kg deadlift (which my girlfriend can do) if it's how I need to train todayKwacky wrote:legs yesterday, chest and arms tonight
Yesterday I finished off with a seated abs machine. It's really effective. Especially when you put 20kg on it, realise it's too heavy but clock that people have seen you put weight on it so you have to do the ego thing and carry on. My abs are in pieces.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Went to a stretching workshop yesterday, which was really good fun. But the guy running it for us to do a mini circuit session to warm up, my god I'm unfit and my body really aches today.
I really need to go back to the gym.

Nutz-stretching doesn't sound much fun.
Bicycle ride today....I'm in appalling shape. Too much eating and virtually no exercise whatsoever.

Oh it was, did I forget to mention we had to pair up for quite a few of the stretches. I was paired with quite an attractive lady from the club, I now know she has got a very firm and toned bum.D41 wrote:Nutz-stretching doesn't sound much fun.

Leg session with my PT. Alternated between doing a heavy weight exercise followed by a light high rep exercise. My legs tired about about 20 minutes. I'm going to ache.

26.2 miles of some of south Wiltshire's muddiest and steepest hills.
Feck me it was tough, took 5:20 but climbed 2700 ft of elevation couple of rest days now.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
PT session tonight, chest and arms. My shoulder tires very quickly, which limits my ability to do press ups. Otherwise it was a good session.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I don't know about you but I get really frustrated when something tires too quickly for me to feel like I've had a good work out. Anything in mind to rectify that?
I did some pull up and shoulder routines before going into squats, deadlift/shoulder press combo then a triple-dropset of arms to finish it off.
I've been going slow with adding weight onto squats because of my knee but did 3 sets of 100kg and felt fine so went up to 120kg - my knee felt fine but my muscles lack the strength they had. Still, I feel good for the progress made and I know I've done it right

Re: The new improved fitness thread
No, my shoulder was fecked after my crash. I lost the use of the right arm and right shoulder froze. I've tried various exercises but I think the damage to the shoulder means it'll never be 100%.
I know what you mean though. It's very very rare for me to get doms in my arms and shoulders as a result of the early onset of fatigue.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Did a mainly cardio session today and I have obviously been neglecting that... Must stop neglecting that as 2000 steps on a stairmaster was hell and leg pressing 100kg just didn't happen after 3 sets at 80... I used to do 120 to finish...
Back at it tomorrow, depending how the work on dads car goes.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Last night was a good training night..
Absolutely knackered my chest but still had bundles of energy.
So I trained shoulders.... then back....
Then after all of that I thought, for some reason, it would be a good idea to do sprints. I went and slept in the changing rooms for 20 minutes before driving home, I still felt a little squiffy then too

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Legs. I don't mind training legs. It was made a whole lot better as I was joined for part of my routine by a well built female body builder who was also doing legs.
