France

This country seems to have a real issue with bigots and zealots. That attack in Nice leaves me feeling cold inside. To think that those families were celebrating independence and liberty, to be mown down by a coward.

:? I really don't think you can hold France to blame for being targeted by maniacs like him.

I do agree tough, horrific (& fairly easy to replicate). (sweat)

I wasn't blaming the country for the attack, I was pointing out that the country has a problem.

IMHO it's not the only country that has that "problem" mate, although they have certainly suffered considerably.

Doesn't France have quite a high Muslim-based population from its historic past?

Why does anyone get brainwashed into thinking crimes like this will change anything for the better?

RIP to all those that have lost their lives. It boils my piss all of this, I just don't understand how people think this will help in any way. This is just causing division between people.

Sadly that's the idea. ISIS want the rest of the world to treat Muslims differently so it's easier for ISIS to recruit people. It's their main aim to divide us.

And yet we are powerless against them because if bomb them they say we bomb their children and use chemical agents against them to recruit more people. We are fighting a loosing battle

I do think we should spend less time and money interfering in the Middle East. Let them sort their own problems out.

The cynic in me says Western governments play along to the whole scenario as a terrorist threat is quite useful to them.

There was a video on facebook a few weeks ago about how we are continuously duped and confused by our government and the media so that we don't know who our real enemy is!!!

But the problem/issues will only get bigger if they're left to their own devices, surely?? It's a tribal culture....religion is merely used as a method of indoctrinating the young and unwitting.

Blair and bush certainly didn't make things better did they?

But all of the evidence proves otherwise.

if you leave these things alone they tend to settle. If you interfere you upset the balance of power, as happened in Iraq after we invaded.

In addition, if you don't get involved, it's harder to recruit people to your cause.

Disagree. The balance of power in Iraq was never as absolute as is made out. These things have been happening in that region since the dawn of uncivilization. The mistake with going into Iraq was that we did not fully understand...and perhaps will never understand/comprehend the mindset the exists there.
All the security in the world cannot counter someone who is willing to sacrifice their own life in the process of taking the lives of others.
