Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Silverstone rang me today to see how I was getting on,told them about the break, they said they had been watching the video of the crash was n slow motion, and came to this conclusion. They reckon a culmination of a possible 3 things
1. Tyre not up to temperature ( certainly a possibility )
2. They want me to check the front tyre, as they reckon there could be a fault with it for the bike to go down so easily
3. They say I have might have squeezed the brake too hard as I came up to the corner ( it felt I had done nothing different to previous laps but can't be 100%sure )
They have also checked the track at the crash point and couldn't see anything wrong with the surface, as Silverstone has been completely re surfaced.
The rear was moving about a bit under acceleration out of certain corners, it was a chilly morning so maybe it was the tyres ?
First time I have used slicks !! Might not in the future.
Nice of them to ring though and go through what happened., they said I have some free instructor time when I go back.

Managed to get the rear wheel back in after finishing work early and had half hour spare before picking up little one so took it for a spin to start scrubbing it in, seems to be playing ok with the front atm, also got to test the new lid out and very happy with that so far
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Picked it back up from the garage.
MOT passed with no issues, and new rubber fitted for the occasion...
Think that's about as far as I'll get the chicken strips down!

It gets a bit tiring when you're running two or three sets a year

Addisons generally match any online price that I have seen yet fit the tyres too. I've looked at numerous sites and still can't find cheaper tyres.

Gave it a very thorough wash, polish and wax... I think my chain may need replacing as it clunks unless freshly lubed... DID gold/black methinks.

F**k me, that was a lot of bikes!
We had a great time, my daughter was a good pillion and even managed to wave to the many many pedestrians along the route and got a cheeky dab in there, as children do!
She's also said she'd come out on it again with me, so that's nice.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
After yesterdays tarting session I went out and got her dirty again, a big loop from Squires to Seaways, Scarbrough for dinner then up to Whitby for cake (A big slice of chocolate cake) and then over to Helmsley for another brew and a chat with some other bikers, one on a Busa had tall tails of cornering antics and 1" of virgin rubber on his squared off rear tyre (like those BMW's on the iom) another had picked up his Duke 790 yesterday and had already scrubbed the rear maxxis edge to edge, top effort!.
Then home again as all the stops meant coffee, we were near Malton when I started to regret the last one, by the time I got home things were desperate bike stuffed in the garage and I had to leg it.
