Last night I dreamt

Post by Kwacky »

Very vivid dream last night.

I was on holiday with my wife. Cut to the end of the dream and we're both kidnapped. We're both on our knees with a gun to our heads. Then the next bit was incredibly vivid. I heard the gunshot, felt a pain, there was a black hole in the centre of my vision, which spread, until everything went black. The area around the expanding blackness had like a red tinge to it. All at the same time I was thinking "I'm glad I'm next to my wife" and I could see that my hand was resting next to her leg then "this is what death is" and a strong sense of accepting death but being at peace with it. Then I woke up.

I know it's hard to put dreams into words but it felt incredibly real.

Sounds very scary to me! Dreams can feel so real.

Don't go on holiday anywhere dangerous....?

No return tour to Venezuela.

The sense of acceptance and peace when I knew I was going was very strange and felt very real. I had a massive sense of calm.

Once ever now and then I have vivid dream that real I wake up and have to have an internal debate if it was a real memory or not.

Last night I just dreamt of cooking more bacon, sausages and burger patties lol

That sounds like a dream about a heavy decision you made recently, or you're about to make in the near future.
A "something-hanging-over-your-head-or-weighing-on-your-mind" type of dream.
If you believe in that sort of hippy nonsense, that is.
Not that I myself would ever believe in that kind of frickin' Druid crap, of course.

If you've been listening to Jethro Tull or Hawkwind lately, it could explain a lot.

I've had 1 similar experience and it was the night after I admitted I was suffering with depression. That dream gave me a similar sense of calm and acceptance. I think it was because I got in my car to end my life but instead I hear my now Wife's voice talking me down and I called for help instead.

In an absurd way, the dream made me feel like I was ready to fight and take back my life despite having seen the end of it in a dream.

You'll know if any of this relates to you and I hope you know you can PM me if you need or want to.

You clearly have a quite an imagination when you dream. They can feel very vivid and real. Like D says it can be something to do with decisions you've made that day or over the week and its weighing on you. Hope everything is alright Kwacky

I remember bits 2 or 3 times a week. Last night's was just a snapshot. Some are quite long. I can still remember quite clearly places I've been in my dreams, the houses I've been in, the people I've been with. Many of my dreams are clearer memories than actual events.

Must be quite nice then?

The dreams I do get I'm very aware that I can control the situations. I'm effectively in a simulation room so everything is incredibly detailed but I never leave the room or that setting if that makes sense. The most expansive one I had covered 2 roads local to me where I was skate boarding and the road seemed much steeper than in real life and there was a really strong head wind but when I turned off it the road basically fell away and it was really steeply downhill and you couldn't slow down. I just remember that I kept hitting 'reset' and was consciously trying different things to prevent the speed getting away from me

I get the same dream, usually a few times per night, every night, and have done for over 25 years.
Which is why I'm awake right now @ 2,30 in the frickin' morning. GRRR!!

I quite often dream of alien invasion. I am guessing due to watching so many Sci fi films. They are very vivid and exciting though. I normally know its a dream during the dream though. So just enjoy it. Even if its scarey.
I don't remember dreams that often though

I get the same, recurring dreams induced from over watching a certain film genre (giggle)

They are also exciting and vivid (lol)

Should we name this the dream thread?

I have dreams of zombies, they scare the crap outta me. People who are already dead but want to eat you. You are literally useless without some sort of weapon
