Come on then, spill the beans.

How did you do it?

My being the old romantic popped the question outside the club where we met.

In the garage while I was working on a mountain bike.

The then-future-wife thought I was talking to her and not the bike, I guess.

Laying on a riverbank in Suffolk in the sunshine just chilling. (I’d hidden the ring in the boat like a good Boy Scout).

Ok so I have recently gone through this!

I'll do the whole story Lol!

Me and my misses woke up on a warm 15th Jan 2018 morning in Mexico kissed eachother and said happy anniversary to one another.

We had a quick look on FB and she turned to me and said that she couldn't wait any longer and rushed over to the safe and pulled out a bag, opened the bag and there was a box, opened the box there was a sock, opened up the sock and there was a lovely watch for me. Her friend had held onto it for the past couple of months so I literally had no idea!

I was gobsmacked, so happy with it and it's certainly something for special occasions

However i knew something bigger was coming. After days of sneaking around and 50 odd messages back and forth, me and a guy called Orlando had made arrangements for the evening.

I kept it all quiet and I packed the bag for her first surprise ready for 5PM

The Spa

I had booked an hour at the spa for water relaxation. This included steam room, water massages with jets of water and head massage, just to name a bit. I was told an hour, ended up being 2 hours

The Romantic Meal on the Beach

This was suppose to be at 7PM! We rushed out of the spa straight to the Hideaway Lounge (which is our reception where we would meet Orlando to take us down to the beach). We hadn't had a proper shower, we had our normal clothes on, my misses didn't know what was going on so she was slightly niffed as her hair was wet and she wasn't ready for the next event. I snuck upstairs to grab the ring got back down to the lounge and said to my misses you got 5 mins to get ready!!

We weren't back to the lounge until 7.30PM! But Orlando and the beach staff weren't bothered they were really good! They just said it's your time to relax!

We had a lovely gazebo over our table, right next to the swishy, swoshy sea. We had a violinist playing and a great server (everyone was in on it and knew what was coming!!

We had our first course, had our second course and our main meal arrived. I couldn't help it I had the ring in my pocket and I couldn't hold it in there much longer. The atmosphere was PREFECT, live music, sea singing it's song in time with the violinist, I had to start what I was there to do. I must of been talking for 15 mins.

I then went around to her side and got down on one knee. She started crying, I grabbed the box from my pocket and asked her to be my wife.

She was sobbing away (probably thinking God I'm stick with him now!!) But she said

YES!!

10 Years but it was prefect. We had a good kiss, I saw in the corner of my eye the staff watching, violinist smiling right next to our table and the sea having it's arms wide open wanting to give us a hug (by this time the sea was really close to us!!)

So the surprise didn't stop there, we took a lovely walk along the beach front back to our room and stopped by the open market in the hotel (every Monday the hotel bring in local people with stalls to sell their bits and pieves).

We finally made it to the room where my next and last surprise was waiting. While we were down the beach, Orlando had personally cleaned our room and decorated it. When we walked up and saw the door my misses starting crying again and I let her open the door

This is what we found....ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Thanks guys. I genuinely believe it's only one time ill get to do this so had to do it properly Lol!

As for dates we are unsure, however we have always liked the idea of a beach wedding, we have seen a few here now and it looks fantastic. However I flipped my gear into reverse and said about a snow wedding, e.g. snowboarding honeymoon. We like different and we lile to travel so to us it would be away from the norm. We have categorically both mentioned we wouldn't want it in Britain!!

Met a few couples here who have had Beach weddings and 1 thing did pop up...all sweating like pigs and depending on season could be no wind which only makes things worse! But there's upsides and down sides to everything!

I am really liking the idea of a snow wedding though and may push for that

1 thing I forgot to mention after some conversations was that the watch my partner got for me, she bought from Ernest Jones, the ring I bought from her I bought from Ernest Jones, not only the same company but the same shop, not only the same shop but the same guy

He was new as a supervisor in the store...he must be doing very well showing his new staff how to do it haha!! Out of all the other shops, great minds and all that haha!!
