Christmas Trees

Post by Kwacky »

When do you allow your tree to go up in the house?

I like to leave it as late as possible. Preferably no more than just over a week before the big day. My kids think I'm a Grinch.

We put our tree up 2 weekends before Christmas. Certainly of you've got younger kids, put the tree up too early and they are bored of it by Christmas day.

We normally go first weekend of December but that's coz my Mrs is overly excitable. I imagine that as quick as it goes up this year it will come down just as quick once little one gets his grubby mits on it.

A woman at work has confessed to erecting her tree last week.

I've had a word.

It’s supposed to be a ‘christmas’ tree. Not a ‘November’ tree.

Up a fortnight before...mebbe ten days.

Down on New Year's Day.....because 'all is quiet', etc.
......And I mean that - there's absolutely bugger-all else to do. Pointless holiday

Confession time. Last year we had the tree up in October.

Reason being, Marie Curie were filming a promotional video at our house for Christmas and it was such a faff we decided to leave the tree up

If it was up to me it would never be put up .... Apparently that makes me a miserable bustard ?

Our gert will make me get the tree from the loft a couple of weeks before ... That's my role over I'm pleased to say , the rest of the family take care of the erection and decoration.

Ours goes up a week and and a bit before Christmas and down on New Years Day,

December the 1st just isn’t Christmas and putting a tree up that early won’t make it come faster either, pointless nonsense imho.

One of the things I always remember the most about Christmas in the UK, is "Where Eagles Dare" would always be on TV.

Nothing says 'Merry Christmas' quite like watching someone storm a Nazi stronghold ....

Usually a week or two out but it will be going up first weekend of December this year as I’m away over Christmas and New Years at work so we are having our Christmas for Jess, myself and the kids on the second weekend of December and I fly out a couple of days later.

Die Hard for the adult-only families and Frozen for the children-present families... neither of them are christmas films though.

Die Hard is all about Christmas.

On Christmas Eve, NYPD Detective John McClane arrives in Los Angeles. He intends to reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly, at the Christmas party of her employer, the Nakatomi corporation.
