Black Friday

Post by Kwacky »

I see the £ has crashed and the stock markets have reacted badly, as predicted.

Any European manufacturer based in the UK will look to relocate to the EU to save on costs.

The Bank of England is already talking about quantative easement.

This is not looking good

We wont leave the EU for years. It's a complete panic and over reaction imo. Hopefully common sense and order is restored soon.

It's a two year process to leave, but that won't stop companies making a decision now.

I see that the talk is Parliament can agree a free trade deal with the EU meaning that we would still have to allow EU citizens free movement and pay money into the EU.

In other words nothing may change as its the only sensible option to prevent the UK going bust but we, as individuals, will have none of the benefits of EU membership.

This is all speculation nobody knows the future. People are stating opinions as fact which they aren't there just potential outcomes.

I think it's 2 years to leave from when we formally given notice Kwacky so could be upto 4 years.

Seems European markets are hit harder than UK markets (source reuters)

Billions were wiped from share values as Europe saw London's FTSE .FTSE drop 6 percent in early deals, Germany's .DAX and France's CAC 40 .FCHI slump 7.5 and 9 percent and Italian and Spanish markets plunge more than 11 percent.

I think what is going great to be interesting is what the rest of Europe do. There's already talk of Germany, France etc wanting a referendum.

As the UK we import far more from Europe than we export to Europe. Is Europe really going to cut its nose off to spite it's face and make harsh trade deals with us. Europe need to sell to us more than we need to buy from them.

It's not suffering though it's just pure speculation of doom and gloom.

Like you say, who knows?

One thing we can say with confidence is this is the start of the end of the UK. Say hi to little England and Wales.

Seeing the way Scotland voted if we are to quit the UE then I reckon Scotland will want to leave the UK.

Large chunks of Wales was being propped up by EU handouts, so we'll be left with that problem.

I hear property is cheap in Ireland....

I agree Scotland will most likely call to leave the UK again but tbh what resources do they have to support an economy apart from IronBru and Whiskey. Oil price has crashed and North Sea reserves are depleting.
