As a dad my one bit of advice is don't miss an opportunity to be a there as a dad if you can help it. This part of their life passes quicker that you think and you'll be thankful you got to share it with them. Even if he is too young to remember the bond will be stronger.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

The art of negotiation is make your opponent believe that the proposal you have agreed upon is their idea.

Had my year end appraisal. During the big boss came up with a couple of ideas, both of which I was happy with. Who would have thought it 8)

My current boss won't be happy though. Tough.

Not this year. This year is about me being given the work and the role I've been after. I may have to move teams. The guy I work for is excellent at his job but he's no manager. I can't develop as a lawyer if he won't give me supervision and feedback.

Hmmmmm.....was about to go out for a ride, but the heat seems to have buggered my brakes all to hell-and-back. The levers are jammed almost solid.
I guess I shouldn't have left the bike outside in the sun.

Feck it....a quick blast around the block will sort them.

Is your fluid reservoir full? Remove some fluid to avoid the issue repeating

Technical stuff. I've being treading water for a couple of years. I need to be pushed on stuff which is slight beyond me.

It isn't beyond you, Kwacky. If you don't feel uncomfortable you aren't doing anything new - if you aren't doing anything new you aren't learning. You sound like you are good at your job and if it's the next incremental step you're trying to take then you can certainly achieve it

Feeling pretty happy that I've been in the new job just a week and already done just under £2k in business for them and have much more lined up already. Nice to feel like I'm contributing to the business already and like I'm actually achieving something!

Last night with the kids before going to work. Little buggers have me pulling my hair out on a daily basis but I always feel pretty glum on this night. I get them off to school tomorrow and then drop them to their mums tomorrow evening. I know I am lucky the big block of time I get with them but it's always hard facing 3 1/2 weeks without seeing them.
