Seems a bit of a come down for one of the best roads racers of all time .... maybe all the other top rides are already spoken for ?

Massive respect if he can get the Norton on the podium though 8)

I think more the other way round.

Honda have a reputation for pulling the plug on big name riders once they feel they are no longer useful to the Company.

Ahh poor form from Honda then. Guy leaves due to a poor bike now this. Sure they will get great riders riding for them again but bike needs work.

He literally has no more to prove to anyone. He is a legend think he should get into managing if he wants to keep doing something but he doesn't need to risk his neck anymore, he is one of the greats and that will never be forgotten.

Hutchy and Johnston on the Honda I believe.

Will McGuiness keep the Mugen ride ????

Disappointed with Honda if they have been unfair or unreasonable with one of there best and most loyal racers they have had in the last decade.

I don't think McGuinness is even sure if he will be fit for this year's TT.

I said exactly this on facebook, he has nothing to prove to anyone, but thatx the racers menatlity for you I suppose always striving for more and thats why he is a living legend and I'm a couch potato haha
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

I think he wanted Joeys record of 26.

Agree its the right time to go, but only he can make that decision and plenty of others have gone on too long. I guess its the racers logic that they are invisible and still competitive when reality is they are on the way down not up. Not meant disrespectfully. John is a legend (y)

Norton had two top-10 finishers in the Superbike and Senior TT races for 2017 i think. might be a good move for McGuinness. Serves Honda right for testing their latest' clever' clutch/gearboxes on top riders.

McGuiness doesn't want to be top 10 though, he wants top 3, if he goes to Norton I hope they listen to him so he can carry in bring in top 3!
