Was this the guy that couldn't ride properly or was just being an idiot in the way he overtook? I can't help how I react to idiots - it brings the idiot out in me haha

The one who filtered past us at the traffic lights, shot off like his arse was on fire then peeled into the petrol station when you caught him.

No idea why my mileage is so bad (wasntme)... I bet Kwacky is none the wiser either having seen my very relaxed riding style (lol)
Have you tried second gear?

Yeah, it's great ! Usually put it into 2nd when I want the front wheel back down on the tarmac (Y)

I'm typically in 3rd - 5th when riding hard but will go as low as 1st for the hairpins

It'll 70mph in first. You don't need to go any faster than that.

I have to use them. It's 3rd for 70mph on the Versys. I think it only goes to about 35mph in 1st.

Blimey. I started this thread 4 years ago and these tyres are still doing really well in road tests. Looks like Metz got it right first time.

And 4 years ago I switched to m7's and have never used anything else on a road bike.

Was also interesting to see KTM putting the M7 on the 1290 SDR, shows the tyre is still relevant and capable of contending with modern machinery as well.

Has anyone used these for trackdays?

I've used the Racetec K3 (Interact) and that was enough grip for Fast Group but I don't know about the M7.

As much as I'd like to get away from the racing tyres and slick, I don't know if the cost saving is enough to grab me haha

there are a fair few trackday videos on youtube with guys using them so I imagine that they are ok , just type M7rr into the search and you'll get a list .

I would say they would be fine however I would check pressures more regularly. And there never going to have the out right grip of a track tyre.
