Brake Pads

I know most of you guys used to use SBS RS pads is this still the case and how do you rate them on the road, I doubt I'm gunna get much track action so really just looking for something that is good on the road, something with loads of intial bite that doesn't take forever to heat up. Rs still the best option or am I better go for the street excel ones, or sticking with my usual choice of EBC?

Bendix MRR are my choice. Ignore the blurb about them, they're a fantastic road pad in all weathers. I've had them on all my bikes for the past few years and never had any complaints about them. I've tried the MF but found them a bit soft for my tastes.

Currently got Brembo SC as wanted to try them.

Honest opinion is there equal of SBS RS but cost double the money so won't be trying again.

Kwacky rates the Bendix MRR which I haven't tried but believe are very good and similar to the SBS RS.

I don't think you will go wrong with either the SBS RS or Bendix MRR for fast road occasional TD.

At the moment I have the EBC Extreme Performance pads which are about the same money as the Brembo SC and i really like them.

They're sold as fast road and occasional track day pads and i agree with that. They work well from cold getting up to temp quickly and once warm have a strong feel... But the Bendix mrr are much cheaper so i might try those next.

Another one here for the Bendix MRRs here. Very consistent hot or cold and they make a lovely noise when you brake hard.

I've probably got stock pads in mine, but with a high compression v-twin I have no real need for then anyway.

On my Str the stock pads were fine but ebc hh were a definite improvement... Maybe i just cooked the stock pads at cadwell, they're not for track use really.

I have experience of the Brembo SC and they are a brilliant road pad - cold for the first couple of uses at low speed (leaving the housing estate) then never notice a lack of bite after that.

These are competitors to the Bendix MRR and SBS RS but cost double and don't last very long (you get 2mm more material on the SBS than you do the Brembo)

They are ok but lack initial bite i think (could be the ABS which i'm not used to). It's more to compare against MRR which i was used to on the KTM.

I can always keep the stock and swop them back.

Cheap upgrade Cookie and you always have the original as spares. Good idea done the same myself.
