Stuff will have to wait though, that's my spending done and I've got the SX to service and both bikes to insure by the end of March

starting to scrub the tyres in

140 miles on the bike. That first service won't be too far off.

They are. Nice tyres, they seem to be working well on the dry roads.

I can see how they compare to the M7rr. Dry roads so far but it'll be interesting to see what these corsas are like in the wet.

I had a play with the settings last night and found out how to move the rev limit for the lights. I've switched it from 5k to 10k.

Looks like you can turn the ABS off as well, which will be handy for the track.

These spun up a few times tonight. The back stepped out on a thick patch of banding on the road. I was upright at the time.

The light weight of the bike showed up tonight in the wind, it was being thrown all over the place. The SX would have mopped it up but it's larger, heavier and fully faired so there's no surprise they act so differently.

The fuel light seems to come on early,. I rode for about 15 miles with it on but when I filled up I only got 12.5l in the tank. It's a 17l tank. I'll get used to that I guess, it'll be trial and error.

Very late here Kwacky. Superb buy mate. Glad you are happy with your purchase, it's nice you have taken your time over it, let's face it you have got a good deal!

As for running in I totally agree with Blade, personally I'd rather do what manufacturer says as at end of day it's a lot of money to throw down the drain if you go blowing it up just because of revving it too much before first 500 miles!!

You say about the fuel tank, I've ran out of fuel on the ninja before (apparently has a 17L tank) but when I filled it there was only 14.5/15L going in

On the fuel front I'll have to play it by ear. There is a countdown and that said I had 25 miles left, which I guess is just over 2 litres of fuel.

Ah okay.. maybe get Mrs Kwacky to follow you next time with a can of fuel and test the range against the trip computer. If it's anything like a car you'll have another 50 miles on the light

I didn't risk it last time as I was just about to get on the motorway and that's a 23 mile run without anywhere to stop. Once I'm off the motorway I know where the petrol stations are so I can push my luck a bit more.

I don't think I ever got more than 16l in my zx6r.

Someone find me a nice tank protector. The ones I've found all look naff. I know it's a British bike but I don't want a British or English flag on the thing.

Ventura shield tank kit for me every time. Good quality and good protection plus protects the more vunerable sides of the tank where knees rub and scuff the thin paint work of modern motorcycles.
