XCP professional

Post by Kwacky »

All Year Biker have been pimping this stuff. I've not heard of it before

By all accounts the rust protection is supposed to be better than ACF 50, so I've ordered a bottle to see what it's like. http://xcp-protection.com/products/xcp-rust-blocker/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The full range is at http://xcp-protection.com/products/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not too sure how much I would trust a product on my bike that's supposed to loosen tight bolts though. http://xcp-protection.com/products/xcp-one/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I don't think I would want to spray my bike with it to displace moisture if it means it's going to be working behind screws etc

That performance looks very impressive Kwacky.

I have to admit that I'm always concerned about the integrity of tests that are run by people invested in the outcome, rather than an impartial test body.
However, discounting the "false news" aspect, I'm very interested.

How much are you paying please.? - Amazon seems cheapest to me, @ £20 for the 500ml delivered.
I see Autosessive (near you, not me) have it at £ 13.72 click & collect.

£16.75 delivered was the option I went for.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400911674814? ... EBIDX%3AIT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Same company you flagged up - Autosessive.

All Year Bikers (the bike cleaning company) have ditched the ACF50 for this stuff.

Thanks for that Kwacky, a further -10% for purchases over £30 too I see, makes it just £15.07 delivered..

They do bundles as well so you could get the entire range if you were so minded.

Wow that stuff is good. I thought ACF50 was suppose to be the best on the market due to it being orginally used for the US Navy!! That shocks me actually!

The rust protection is certainly thicker than the ACF. I've tried it on a couple of places this evening so I;'ll see how it sets.

I see Shiny Bike Sysdrome are promoting this stuff as well (they are a competitor for All Year Biker) this stuff must be excellent if all the main valets are switching to it!

I didn't know that. ACF must be pissed off the that they're both switching over to XCP.

For me that's a big endorsement. Nooj really knows his stuff when it comes to cleaning.

Which reminds me, must book the bike in for a valet over the next week or two.

A petroleum based (naphtha) surfacant. It breaks down surface tension of a liquid and helps it penetrate.

The Alkyl part at the front is in reference to the reaction used (Alkylation) to form it. Alkylation is a reaction in the presence of a catalyst to allow ionic transfer. It's also how we used to create pure octane (a cyclic C8 hydrocarbon) at the refinery for blending into motor fuel. Except we used hydrofluoric acid as a catalyst, and that is the nastiest shite on earth.
