Insurance quote

Post by duke63 »

Bikesure rang me this afternoon to give me a quote on my renewal. I told them about the 748 now having an 853cc engine. They went away and got me a quote which seems pretty fair to me. I have not had my renewal quote from Carole Nash yet though and its not due until the end of Feb so will hang on until then.

The service i got on the phone from Bikesure was very good though.

I pay the same Duke. Which for 2 modified litre bikes with helmet and leather cover and zero excess is pretty decent.

I actually got a new stand alone quote on a cbr6 the other day as a new policy with zero NCB as my no claims would be used on the multi bike policy and was surprised it was only £163 which makes 3rd bike ownership seem quite attractive (happy)

Wow that's good. Bikesure was always very good to me to be honest. I only changed because I wanted to try the new company on the block!

I would not recommend trying out insurance company's ability to provide good customer service If you know what I mean Rossgo.....it rarely if ever ends in your favour (giggle)

I was only teasing Rossgo mate (lol)

Personally I always hope insurance is the biggest waste of money I ever spend but I get what your saying, in case you need it you want decent, reliable cover which is sensible.

I agree mate. At end of day we do want the best and we want it to be the best even if we don't use it! Although lots of people agree against MCE but I had 2 bikes nicked and both times they were superb. I suppose with all insurances we can get the sh*t end or the great end, we don't know until we use them I guess!!

Eventually went with Bikesure. Carole Nash initial renewal quote was up £230 on last year simply because of the new Multi. They dropped it by £200 when I told them the Bikesure quote but when I mentioned the new engine on the 748 they more than doubled the quote. So Bikesure it is.

Doubled the quote for an extra 100cc or so? What a joke. I find it very hard to see how it increases their risk by much at all.

It's the costs of repair more than anything else. Plus insurers really don't like modifications to vehicles.

It just increases their excuses to my mind. But insurance can be very fickle....my rates went DOWN when I added another bike...then back up a touch when I added the wife & her bike. But then my carrier was "out-of-state"...and that's a whole different kettle of aquatic life.
Frankly I don't care about the bike if I come off it...I remember giving mine a good solid kick as it slid by me in my last unscheduled dismount. Fcuking stupid bike!!
