Re: Zx10 RR 2017
I guess they are trying to make it more competitive against the beemer in superstock racing where mods are limited to exhaust and supension as these are the only items not upgraded which would normally would be for racing and are what is permitted in superstock racing.

But if they made it more exciting visually you would say it wasn't bland enough for you and was overstated

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
With both Honda and kawasaki launching special edition motorcycles limited to 500 units for their 2017 line ups where most of the upgrade is focusing on the cylinder head I suspect it's as these low volume run bikes may be exempt from Euro4 emissions, thus allowing manufacturers to get round a power issue and still have a competitive edge in superstock racing.

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
Nah....the exhaust hanging down at the bottom looks a bit naff. The "NINJA" graphic just looks dated these days....and trust me, this is from a guy who dotes on having stickers on his bike!! It looks like it has matt paint too, so a PITA to keep clean. I like the Honda you posted on the other thread WAAAAY better.Blade wrote:But if they made it more exciting visually you would say it wasn't bland enough for you and was overstated

I'm all for bike makers doing this. It allows us mere mortals to own something close to a full on race bike.

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
Not for me buddy Cash is still king here.
Call me old fashioned but I like to earn something before I buy it
Tbh as nice as it is, it would be wasted on me. The stock 190 bhp motor is already enough. I would rather focus on handling first but I totally get what Kawasaki and Honda are trying to do here.
It's a very good bike to start with. Throw in the above engine mods as standard then the new owner change the zorst and suspension as per superstock regs and you have a pure racer very loosely disguised as a showroom spec production motorcycle. Great idea if your a manufacturer wanting to dominate production class racing which has to be good for sales.

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
I wouldn't buy one, but I think it's a great way to meet the racing rules and to get average punters interested in buying a race bike.

RRP of £16,250 is very good value for money. They'll fly out at that price.

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
That's a bargain. THing is, in RR form it produces no extra power (I believe), it is down to the weight saving and extras that give the bike it's edge along with the ease of high-lift cam fitment to unleash another 10-15bhp with tuning and a full system

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
So now we know the prices of both, is the 10RR the better value for money or the £19k Honda Fireblade SP?

Re: Zx10 RR 2017
My thinking is over the course of ownership the Honda will hold its value better so will probably even out in terms of cost of ownership.
