No idea, Blade. It's on the Ducati Sporting Club website and being mentioned as a potential new road bike.

Wonder if it's the 900s supersport you posted earlier or another all new model ?

It's definitely a Desmosedici tank and frame. Don't think it's the MotoGP bike though as I don't think that has a black frame.

Blade: From someone on the Ducati forum who has just ordered a Panigale Anniversario -

Oh, I have it on good authority (really a perfect person) that there's a Desmo coming out - probably at EICMA - they'll be making 1,000 at it cost c£45k.

Cheers for the info Duke (y)

If there 45k I will be quite surprised but equally pleased and I do hope your mate is right.

Second hand 8 year old Desmosedici's are for sale between 40 and 60k depending on mileage.

I asked the question today at the dealers - is there a new Desmo coming out? I was told no but there is something special coming out in November.

Got no more info than that but i'm betting on a V4 superbike.

I doubt they'd put the desmo name to a bike when they aren't winning championships in MotoGP to be honest.

I'd imagine a V4 could be on the cards though with some wild form of electronics and 215bhp or so. wet weight of 170kg maybe???

I reckon it will replace the Panigale R and be used in WSB. They are struggling to make enough power in WSBK now to keep up with the four cylinder bikes.

What are the rules surrounding that...? 1000 bikes produced and sold to the public??

Would be awesome if they did that, another V4 for sale would make it awesome and I'm sure Aprilia would up their game

Yes i forget how many have to be sold now but i think the original Desmo could have been eligible for WSBK at the time.

Makes alot of sense Duke as they can concentrate on the Panigale as a road bike and obviously they don't race the 1299 and pretty pointless to continue with the 1199R imo.

Homologation numbers had gone up to 3000 units but has been recently reduced to it 500 units according to a quick Google search.

I think Gigi Dall'Igna played a big part in designing the Aprilia V four so no doubt he will have a lot of experience to add into the design.

I guess Audi needed something to succeed whar with the VW emissions debacle :?

I'm not complaining though it's great to see Ducati doing well in the showroom and on the race track 8)

Yep....I read something a bit ago about exactly why the numbers had been brought down, but I'm pretty sure it had some tie-in with the FIM and how the Euro manufacturers simply couldn't put out the numbers of bikes required, and it was important to keep them in the mix for the fans sake.
