Have you tried it Duke63 ?

I think I could give up road bikes and not miss it but it would be very difficult for me to give up off roading.

I have some great memorys from trackdays/racing but better memorys from larking around laning with other folks knee deep in mud :D

Yes mate, I have and loved it. I can't justify a third bike though and not ready to give up the other two yet. The real appeal to me is to be able to keep riding for fun all year round.

Had to work late, which meant riding home in the dark and in the rain. Not much fun with fragile confidence but needs must. That's the first time I've ridden the Versys in the pitch black. Those fog lights are bright.

You're a highly experienced & skilled rider Kwacky. It's hardly surprising that you're feeling somewhat unnerved considering the incident you've just been involved in, but I'm sure you'll get your confidence back before long mate.
After all, your abilities ensured that you came through with no physical harm whatsoever. They will continue to see you keep safe, despite anything & everything.

Cheers mate, that's kind of you to say.

I still reckon it was old age and the slow reactions you get rather than any skill on my part :D

We're back to roundabout retards.

Yes mate, I realise there are three lanes on this roundabout, but you only need to use one of them.

Oh, you're in the left turn only lane but you've changed your mind? No problem, you push me and that car out of the way, no problems.

Dickheads. Dickheads everywhere.

Left lane had the shortest queue approaching it, so that's the one they chose.
The shortest one is the one they always choose, because it leads onto the same roundabout & the exit they want is somewhere off that roundabout.
They literally know no better, and care even less.
,,and they seem be an increasing percentage.

Went through the suspension settings yesterday. Thought when I rode it the bike felt a bit strange
Anyway looked through the settings in the handbook and the spring preload says 4 turns. I though surely it's clicks! Started to turn it and realised the owner had turned it 4 complete times!! Anyway put it back to 4 clicks and it feels slot better - haven't ridden it but I can notice it already just by pushing down on the front!

Dropped the Versys off for a service and insurance quote.

They've given me a KTM 1090R Adventure with knobbly tyres. Not the time of year to be riding on wet cold tarmac with knobblies on

I'm pushed at work. I'll do a review later on. But it is the tallest bike I have ever ridden. I'm struggling with the height of the thing.

I've ridden one and really didn't like it tbh.

Too tall.

It was dark when I left work so I didn't risk trying the bike out in a field where I can't see

Took her to work and back home again...tried A mode...its an animal

Also Bridgestone BT023 tyres. I'm unsure about them, they are clearly grippy and also have a rather nice profile on them but I don't feel a lot, seems a tad numb to me at least. I'll get used to them until they wear out
