Re: The Tyre Thread

I got over 5000 miles from a Rear Sportsmart, 5750 from the front. I could ride as fast on the road with these as I can on the Supercorsa SC1/2 or Racetec K3. Sketchy in the wet and uncomfortable though Only tyre I got more miles from was the BT023 on my SV650 (9000 miles on a rear) I wouldn't disa...

Re: What are you doing today ??

That's the badger. Saves the dealer charging me 40 fackin quid for a generic map. Not to mention, resetting the TPS, adjusting the speedo ratio, reading FI faults, disabling the oxygen sensor, plus you can use it to do custom fuel/air maps on the Dyno. I used it for about 5 years and all it cost wa...

Re: Metzeler offer

Working mate or would definitely get out as will be great to hook up for a ride. Have to get something sorted another time soon. Let me know when you're back, my weekends are filling up pretty quickly with un-biking related activities but could do a week night. Went out last night and it didn't go ...

Re: the tyre thread

If you want, I have a set of Racetec RR (K1 front K2 rear) 180/60 which have done 1.5 trackdays. over 6mm in the centre and about 2.5 on the right shoulder and 3.5 on the left. Perfect for the road. I'm likely to post them up for sale anyway as I don't do enough road riding to use them Cheers dude,...

Re: the tyre thread

I'd agree with that, even Pirelli openly state that while the SCs are street legal the carcass is not really designed for road use. I loved them on the road though, like snot on a blanket. If I did more than one or two track days a year I'd buy cheap take offs and leave them on.

I used to run my SC01/02s at 32/36 on the road and 28/28 on the track, but obviously these are very different tyres

Read my mind, exactly what I was planning.

What pressures do you run yours on, manual says 36/42, but I've got mine set at 32/42.

Re: Kwacky's ongoing M7rr Metzeler review

I'm sure you're right, and suspect most tyres don't really need much running in these days. I just tend to give any new tyres at least 50 miles regardless of how they feel, just to be safe. More for my own head than anything else. I did find the front a bit squirmy when I tested the brakes (Sheep in...

Re: Kwacky's ongoing M7rr Metzeler review

Managed to get the first 30 miles on mine last night and so far very impressed. Didn't really push them for obvious reasons, plus I had brand new brake pads in. Chalk and cheese compared to those horrible Bridgestone's, think I'm going to like them. Hopefully I'll run them in properly on Saturday an...
