Re: Stow Breakfast - 9th Dec @10

I'm ashamed to say that although we had the best summer in a generation, I did less miles on the bike than I have for years. Short handed at work has meant more time at the weekends, however i have now got a full crew and more importantly, I am approaching my retirement, so that may free up some tim...

Re: what's your favourite type of cafe?

McDonalds is good for a coffee 'n pee and it's the same all over, Chris Walker has got a good cafe attached to his shop over in Grantham and there are some excellent roads thereabouts, the old forge cafe in Moneyash does really nice apple cake, the pub next door does good food as well. The airfield ...

Re: does a ride have to have a purpose?

There has to be a tea / coffee stop as a destination, although I have a loop around the local area that I use to get rid of "stupid manager" stress from work, I live up near junction 11 on the M42 and have some good roads roundabout and mostly head over to Lincolnshire, Chris Walkers place...

I wondered about that as they don't have an outlet anywhere near the factory, they seem a bit thin on the ground around the Midlands.

Re: iron Butt? No Way

You beat me to it scruff, I had an early Tuono and that was iron butt territory after a hundred miles, it needed fuel then, but the day longer the day the more uncomfortable it was. My Mrs got me some of those impact shorts and they do work. Mind you the MT10 is all day comfortable, fuel stops are o...

Re: Triumph Birmingham

Heard about this at work. It's really light in the midlands for Triumph dealers which is bizarre being near the home of Triumph. I still use Staffordshire Triumph (BS Bikes) in Stoke. but that is a bit of a jaunt just for small things. Well, in days gone by they had Windy Corner as the nearest deal...

Re: wives, partners and girlfriends

I have two bikes in my shed/workshop, one is mine and the other belongs to the wife, both are reasonably new, my wife rides more than I do as she is semi retired and unfortunately I still work full time, in theory we could fit another one in. I like the idea of an old "classic" but would g...

Re: The Budget

Well, we don't have a mortgage, I had a good pay increase last year (I work in an industry that suffers from a skill shortage at all levels) I was supposed to have a company car earlier in the year but currently I drive van, I may stick with that. My wife works part time so I claim her unused tax al...
