... profile. I find it helps with slow manouvering and extending the life. Also, it's been so long soince I had a ride for actual fun rather than getting to work. I am tempted to get a sportier tyre as it gets closer to nice weather though, and then when worn out go back to a touring tyre.

... to idle at 1300 rpm no wonder it doesn't like it. Racers often set the idle very high, typically 3000 rpm so even on a closed throttle it is still getting drive which helps maintain stability.
